I can't say what kind of strike(s) it/they were, but sure didn't like them. We had three of them within one week. I do live in the lightning capital of the US, so shouldn't be too surprised. Each one hit my tall palms, then ran to the nearest carrier from the tree. One time was the sprinkler system, another the outdoor lighting, the other the TV cable. Palms are full of water and work like an arrestor - - and they WERE all around my house. Had twelve big babies - - six of them were killed, the other six are now down in Miami. That type is a hot one for landscapers - - sure don't know why. $25 per palm to trim them three times a year. Bye bye and no tears.

If yer back is pooched you gotta call in some back up to keep this place clean and presentable. Stop puttin the Depends on the ceiling fan to dry!

OK, I just set out some chicken fried steak along with some white gravy, shredded hash browns and eggs for the late breakfast folks. All the juices are fresh squeezed and chilled.

The lunch/supper menu consists of slow smoked beef ribs, smoked salmon, ny steak charbroiled, steamed veggies, rice and a baked potato bar.
Soup and salad bar is by the pool table.

Dessert came from the Tim Hortons where all the RCMP where undulging.

That's the one we went to I think. I looked at all the International dealers on International's dealer locator and that was the closest one listed at least. Had I Google Mapped it instead of following the parts guys directions, I'd have been there in about 15 minutes. I'm sure he was thinking, "Watch this" when he gave me the directions!

I started on margaritas early. After the antics of the last couple of days, my body is beatup and tired. Visited my girlfriend for a little while this afternoon. Hopefully I can get settled down an the world goes right.

Got a pallet of egg rock coming in the morning. Getting those flower beds taken care of. Should have been finished Sunday but the driver never showed to work.

I know the hours and the stress over the "numbers" really suck but you have the opportunity to be the first honest recruiter out there. I've yet to meet one of those.

Evening all. Two days and a wake up.

That's funny... funny because you are not the first person to say that.

Yeah, leaving fairly soon.

Recruiting duty is about numbers. You have to get a certain number of a certain applicant... Say I have three high schools in the area I work. I have a quota of three contracts (shipping to bootcamp) a month. But, they have to be in good standing with school, the law, and smart enough to do whatever job that the Corps needs at that moment. Basically, a prime individual, not some drooling moron. That kid does not want to be a Marine, but I have to make him want to be a Marine. If I don't, it's my career. My boss is going to ride me to get that number, because it's his career too. It's actually a lot deeper than that, believe it or not.

Probably not. I'm gonna get the job done.

Evenin.

Got to do the Humvee trainer today... they put us in a mock humvee and roll us around a few times, then make us get out upside down or sideways with some gear on... good times. I actually enjoyed it.

Keeping a straight face while yer telling them how great it is has to be the tough part.

Nice slinky video. Feel like that sometimes myself.

Spring/summer weather is upon us here, with some sun, some rain. Beats the 8" of snow we got last week. Steadily warm, I can live with that.

For the 5th time in my recorded history, I had a propane blow off / fire happen this evening. Involved a bad hose from the tank to the BBQ. Wonderful stuff all in all. Got the hose out, knocked it down enough to shut it off. Then wondered WTH happened to the "regulator" which is supposed to control pressure, and to some extent flow. This one had the hose rupture, and was giving me full flow, as though the valve was wide open. Not a big deal, but enough to make one wonder, who, who wrote the book of love...

Oh well, you aren't having fun unless you're fully involved.

Beyond that, summer work has caught up, still working on the next service truck, call it service truck 4.0. Updates are slow at the moment, but it is coming along.

Have fun out there people, be safe, be sane, be happy.
