Close call/tornado
Well how is everyone doing in the crazy weather. Last fri wife calls me at home from work about 11:45am to say something is going on down our way. I sa nah, pager hasn't went off (fire dept). Then a buddy calls and ask "whats going on down there. I say nothing going on here. I was working the 11p to 7a shift so I was asleep. Wife calls again, "theres tree down every where". Ok, ok I tell her, I'll go look around. Go into living room and my FD radio is going nuts. Utt oohh. Tornado came within 1/2 mile of my house as I slept.
Tornado traveled 17 mi and was 1/2 mi wide. I can see some of the damage from my front porch. No one was hurt but theres a lot of damage. We went house to house checking on folks, then started clearing roads. I'm sure glad I said a prayer before I went to sleep. Everyone take care out there!

Glad you're OK!!!
Now, do you think it might be time to buy a weather radio???
This has been an active tornado season and it's not done yet. Keep your guard up.

I'm planning to buy one now! I've relied on my pager, but fri the dispatcher had so much going on since we had a tornado in the north part of the county too, she did a "all call" which didn't tone my pager. I had it on selective channel since I was asleep.
