Smoke a pipe.

Get a home Ionizer, and let it run inside the truck for a day or so.
(While parked of course, unless you have a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeal long extension cord.) I have a timeshare and last year the previous user apparently smoked a couple of cartons worth the week before I got there. [yuk] The housekeepers plugged an ionizer in the unit, We headed for the store, and about three hours later, I couldn't smell the cigs at all. |
Three real choices, trade the truck, start smoking, trade the wife [laugh]
|
I had the same problem when I bought my truck. [yuk] 3-4 applications of frebreeze and no cigarette smoke smell anymore.
|
Cool, :) Only thing I gotta sray it into the vents also. :( Only if the wife had a non smoking twin!!:D Oh well. gonna try the frebreeze first then move up from there! [eyecrazy] Wonder how nutty I would look where my Scuba gear while driving, or driving like Ace Ventura the pet detective?[laugh]

The Jeep I just bought has the same problem. Tried five gallons of Febreeze, didn't even faze it. [yuk] [yuk]
|
Seems it either fades over time or you get used to it.
I think the ionizer is a good idea, plus a good vacuum and shampoo will do wonders. Take it a good detailer and have them go over it. They maky steam clean or dry clean the interior which will make a huge difference. |
That was my next step.. Cigarette smoke don't bother me at all but there is something about the smell when it gets in the fabric that just [yuk] [yuk] 's.
|
Now take a two pack a day habit, add Parrot bird poop smell, some bits and pieces of rejected fruit.... a hot day. [laugh] Best security system going...

Don't pick up many hitch hikers do ya? :D

I use a Hoover steamer on mine. It has attachments to use in auto's, furniture, and what not. The cleaners you buy for it usually smell pretty good and seems to remove all the smell from the truck. I'm a light afternoon smoker, and my boss smokes like a freight train. When he visited me out at some job sites this winter he would get in there with the windows UP and smoke while he was on the phone, just becuase it was cold out I guess. The truck completely smelled like ***, the steamer actually removed all the smell. The ol lady and I bought it for the house, (i don't smoke in our house) but I end up using it more in our vehicles. I got it at Wal-Mart a few years back for 160.00 or so. Detail shops use "extractors" which are pretty pricey if you go to buy one, my Hoover seems to work just as well.
