Christmas Cards to our TROOPS!
Got this in an email today from work
When doing your Christmas cards this year, address one to : A Recovering
American Soldier c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center 6900 Georgia Avenue NW;
Washington, D.C. 20307. If we pass this on, think of how many cards these
patriots would get. PASS THIS ON!

Its a great sentiment but any soldier/ servicemember type mail will not be delivered. If you wish to send cards or items to service members you need to go through something like Operation care and comfort, America supports you, ect.

Most all of the deployed troops register with America Supports You and we get care packages or cards from people back home. Churches and schools and community groups (4H, FFA, LODGES) are a big part in it. Its to protect the soldiers since we have a dedicated link back to the sender and to the soldier. If you want to send a card or goodies check out America Supports You and they can link you up with a soldier from their mailing list. This also helps keep just a few from getting the care packages on the supper FOBS. I am on a team of 11 guys on an Iraqi base and our Warrant Officer gets a care package about every 15 days from a church in Southern Ca that he was linked up with through A.S.Y based on his home town. He shares all the goodies that get sent to him with the team and we write them thank you notes in emails. Once again thank you for thinking of us over here and back home healing.
