Yeah, we're all stoopid

If last night's debate revealed anything, it's who's actually running the country. Now wonder he lives in a bunker. I thought the VP did an admirable job until it got passed his bedtime, then he started to fade.....fast. And it was even more apparent seated next to a bright-eyed young guy like Edwards. I don't think Cheney even responded to the "Halliburton in Libya" question. The debate moderator Gwen Ifill did a lousy job. Where were the probing follow-ups?

The problem guys is that people are not watching (or listening) to the candidates too many are listening to the media! It astounds me to hear people repeat what Rather, Brokaw, or worse Jennings say, instead of what they actually say (or in Bush's case try to say).

It did? What evidence do you have of that? Do you think that only because Cheney is a good speaker, he's running the country? Show us some evidence. I suppose you're right in a sense that our VP does participate in part, to run our country. I personally feel comfortable with the fact that we have a VP that CAN run the country.

Now wonder he lives in a bunker.
Now this IS a ridiculous comment. If you're referring to the attacks on the country in which the VP was taken to a "undisclosed location", well that is policy. Remember that the whole purpose of the VP is to take over the country if the President gets hurt or killed. Do you think it would be smart to keep him in the White House, or in public? People who make this comment to me over time have proven themselves to little or no knowledge on how the system works.

I thought the VP did an admirable job until it got passed his bedtime, then he started to fade.....fast. And it was even more apparent seated next to a bright-eyed young guy like Edwards.
You've GOT to be kidding! I would agree with the analysts that said this guy basically tok Edwards and sit him down like a principal speaking to a young student about the facts of life. Cheney only got stronger toward the end of the debate. The shots of Edwards showed not a man of great character or poise, but a man who was literally stressed.. You didn't see him shaking when he picked up his water?

I don't think Cheney even responded to the "Halliburton in Libya" question. The debate moderator Gwen Ifill did a lousy job. Where were the probing follow-ups?
He responded to Haliburton questions a couple of times, but so what. It's the biggest non-issue the Democrats can come up with during the campaign in order to elect their guy Kerry. I can understand the tactic, but so far it hasn't worked. Why don't the Democrats answer the question of Haliburton in Bosnia during the Clinton Administration?

Correct, or they just listen to each other's accusations without really grasping an understanding of the real issues, which is exactly what Commatoze has shown that HE did last night. Nothing of substance once again from Liberals.

Cheney did a much better job than Bush. But he was rolling a meat ball the whole time. It took some credibility away from him like he was nervous about something. A man in his position should be totally confident in what he's saying. I got the feeling Edwards was totally confident in his pipe dreams. Humans yes but, we still react to our animal instincts that we don't even realize we have. We sub consiously see the hand wringing and bright eyes. It affects those who don't understand the issues more than those who do. Most people will vote on the "presentation". And yes, most Americans are gullable, ignorant of the issues, and shallow. That's why advertising works so well.

Anyone ever see the film "Red Dawn". I am unable to get away from the thought that Kerry is the mayor. That is SKERRY!!!
Ever wonder why the media avoids revealing the 20 year record of senator flipper.
In my opinion, it wasn't a blowout win, but Cheney did come out on top.

Well to add a little water

lets just say bush wins

4 years later I'd guess cheney would be the repubican canidate It looks like he'll do a good job then

So..............its another 12 years before a demo's back in the white house .

I wish McCain can find a way to give it a shot I really like him he's way laid back and seems to be a cool guy ,but that might not be what you want running your country.
McCain will never get a shot if bush gets reelected so GO Bush/Cheney 12 more years !!!!

If you're referring to Cheney's hand movements, he displayed nothing but confidence in my opinion. He's been doing that for years so if you've seen it before, it's no surprise.

Don't be so sure. Cheney has made it clear for 4 years now that he's met his political aspirations. He will not run for President in 2008.

McCain will get a shot in 4 years. So will Hillary if she's not in jail for her 2000 campaign funding issues that seem to be popping up. Maybe she can sit beside Martha and Meg Scott Phipps in WV.

I'm ashamed to say that I did not watch the debate last night, but I did see a small portion of it. From what I did see, Cheney clearly won. One of the things he said that I thought was funny came after Edwards was criticizing Cheney's voting record. When asked for his rebuttal Cheney simply said, "The Senator's voting record speaks for itself and frankly it isn't very distinguished." I don't know...it made ME laugh.

McCain blew it in 2000 primaries. You may remember he did his own flip/flop when he tried to capitalize on Bush visiting Bob Jones' university and upsetting Catholics? McCain said, "Neither party, should be defined by pandering to the outer reaches of American politics and the agents of intolerance, whether they be Louis Farrakhan or Al Sharpton on the left or Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell on the right." An outrageous claim Christians like me find insulting.
On edit, perhaps it was just me, but being grouped with Louis Farrakhan and Al Sharpton insulted me to the max. No, I bet it's the media thing again. How quickly we forget.

Edwards talks like a country preacher or a cheap lawer. Either way he would be another Bill "I feel your pain" Clinton in office. Female interns better run! LOL
