Calling skid steer owners.... Anyone use McLaren rubber tire tracks???

Anyone use McClaren rubber tire tracks on their skid steers? I have a CAT 247B track skid steer and a 226B rubber tire machine. I only need one machine and the 226B rubber tire machine is in much better shape, lower hours and hi flow. I prefer tracks for my dirt work. But I need the high flow for my snow removal to run the snow blower. I think the McLaren tracks will give me the best of both worlds. Anyone have experience with the McLaren tracks? Pro''s/Con's?

Thanks....

This is in regards to Mclaren the company. I have a set of bullman semi pneumatic tires made by mclaren. I had about 10 hrs on them and one of them split and the cleat (lug) is **** near torn off. I have used regular tires on this machine since new and never had a problem like this.I purchased these tires so as to avoid flats. When I contacted them about this, they basically told me to pound sand (its my fault). These tires are advertised as the best of the best, tougher than anything. And with a price tag of over $2000.00 I would hope so.So with that being told,I would not purchase anything from them.Oh I do residential concrete flat work.I have found through internet research that this is a common problem with these tires.I guess I should have done what you are doing before I purchased these things. I guess I would just be very careful about buying from them.

I have over the tire steel tracks on my S300 bobcat it made a world of difference now all my power goes to the drive instead of spinning my wheels and the flotation in muck and mud keeps me moving....one thing to remember is tracks will tear up yards more then rubber tires

The reason I didn't get rubber tracks was cost of them and I needed traction and flotation....very happy with the steel tracks haven't taken them off since I got them

I've got the Grouser brand over the tire metal tracks. I don't think McClaren was making them when I got mine.

Hubby is running a set of Grouser 2170 rubber tracks over dual tire sets on his big John Deere 325 skid steer - best thing that ever happened to this class loader. They made a stout machine into a real earthmoving machine. At 18 inches wide, lots of traction, and low ground pressure. They have been on the machine a bit over a year now, and wear is negligible - and he runs the heck out of this machine. It does everything - grading with bucket or box scraper, loading, hauling, it's his bread and butter machine.

Bottom line, when the 325 gets replaced, the new one will get the same kind of tracks - they are so much better than the narrow stock setups!
