That headline would get all the 18 to 25 year old liberals running to Canada.

I think there should be manditory military service for all American males. I think it is a travesty that single mothers are set to Iraq while knucklehead single guys sit around here in the local bars and play pool and drink beer. Whats wrong with this picture?

no desrespect intended

1. They signed up (single mothers), besides the media loves it.

2. The draft should be inacted, but only when needed.

3. This is a democracy.

just my .002 and ps I am not probably young anough for the draft myself.

We have a mandatory military service over here. Actually it's not bad to have, there's some educational value in it. You learn some discipline and self-discipline, structures and organisation, do lots of sports etc.
For those who won't touch a gun there's a civil service, like helping in hospitals etc. If you choose the civil service you renounce your right to own guns.

Just my 2c thrown across the pond

As a career Military man i can tell you I wouldnt want to serve with guys who didnt want to be there in the first place. They would be dangerous in combat. ( I know some would do their Duty)

my brother is in the air force and he said they are coming up with stricter rules, like 1 DUI and your gone. so they can cut back on the amount of people. he said since 9/11 so many people signged up that they have no place to put them

Mandatory military service is BS. Freedom is definitly being trounced there, in my opinion. An emergency draft, even, KIND OF puts freedom at risk if it was strongly enforced, but there isn't much preventing you from going to Canada or Mexico, so you still have freedom to make a choice. And if you won't fight for America's rights, you have no right to be American.

Oh, I saw that... I really did, we just all kind of started talking about a real draft anyways, though. I forgot it was a joke. Thanks for making me feel stupid.

As for the joke... [mandatory smile]
