Cleaned the deck and restrooms (padlocked the women's room just for Cin and I) I suspect the janitor has been sleeping in there lately. he used the hair dryer too, now we have a rug we didn't count on...

son did not get job . best part? He listened and we talked on another path. I have some paperwork to do and request a favor from the local Court.
I believe he has learned that haste can really set one back aways. tough to live life at 18, can't do it totally alone he now figured out.
maybe being 19 and a clean slate will help. lot of support- less words. today was a gift! and I even missed swimming.......

psychology tip for the day:
'assimulators' will take on the symptoms of other person's illness to fit in.
feel closer to the person or share concern. kind of a shallow person , and they really have no idea how it appears. usually folks who cannot identify with a strong opinion or 'place' in the social order. they would be the ones to say they hang out with the football captain ,only to be on the same grass 100 yards away.

how to handle? smile and be (ugh) interested in them. turn the positives- why you look great! did you have any difficulties in sports like this? any invitation will be taken up, so distance yourself accordingly to your goals.
personally, I find that "get over it" or 'suck it up! buttercup!' works well for me. now you know why i don't do social work. I just don't care.

Three mushers still out, hope they make it in safe. Bucked up a couple cords of wood last couple days, friend bringing splitter over this weekend. Mom sent up a bunch of paintings for my new room, she's a heck of a artist. She has had a art gallery/studio for years, selling local art from the central Idaho area. Getting almost 12 hours daylight now, sure was nice having 40 above weather last few days. This about to end, down to 6 above now. Sure hope march wasn't like last year, coldest March on record with 9 days of 50 below. Later Paul

Heidi - - for crying out loud girl, go to bed. Too much working and no sleep is not good for you. Still thinking about you and the boy - - not fun when going thru that. You love them, raise them with great hopes for them and then they decide they know best. We can't make decisions for them - - guess my folks had a few birds too - - like when they found out I was racing. That was not a good day.

Another gorgeous but busy day down this way. Heading for quite warm again today. Almost hit the AC yesterday but a breeze came up and made it just right. Sorry I can't send some your way, Paul. That white stuff is pretty - - for a while - - then you have had enough of it.

I wish someone had told MY parents that! I was told EXACTLY what would happen if I didn't get a job, didn't pass in school, didn't know right from wrong, etc, etc, and in no uncertain terms either! I think I was 13 or so when I got that speech! Didn't need it again, I knew what was expected.

loss of kidney function, high blood pressure, generally poor health. all the things that come with old age.

 

A beer or two improves kidney function, lowers the BP and I'm not in generally poor health. Additionally, I'm not elderly, I'm like a fruit that is just beginning to ripen.
