Boiler issues?

Well my heating buddy stopped by today.He put a meter on the gas valve and on the in port it read 18 which is normal for city natural gas but the out port to the burners was at 15 and its only to be at 3.5. So now I don,t know if its just me,but the house is now set at 66 and it seems to be warmer than ever before.But I hope it knocks off a big chunk on the bill.He also commented that the boiler seems a little small for the home.

3.5"w.c. is correct on the output of the gas valve, and not that it matters, but are you sure it wasn't 8"w.c. in, 5"w.c. output?

But, it describes why your water would heat up real quick on the temperature gauge, then drop fast...

It would rapidly heat the water that was actually in the boiler, but never get the rest of the water hot in the loop, so basically room temperature water was circulating throughout, causing the boiler to have to fire continuously.

Well, good luck with the gas bills, I hope most of the problem has been resolved.

The digital meter read 18.56 on the in,and 14.92 on the out. Thanks for all your help Mega.
