We have one, I like it, neat to just walk around.

A bonus for married guys is that your wife will have something to look at while you are looking at whatever you came to see...

They are opening one in Pearland (Houston) at 288 and the Beltway
The rumor around here is that it will have a year round onsite fishing pond. Stocked with Bass and Catfish and a full service restaurant.
I drove by it last week the thing is huge bigger then the one Katy.
Here is link if you care to look.

The new one here has both of those, also.

I agree!!! I love Bass Pro. They just opened a new one in Garland, TX, but I haven't been to it yet. Grapevine, TX and Springfield, MO were very cool!

So, anyone been inside one? Pretty cool? I hear this one is a bit different than most. It's in its own building covering 5 acres if I remember right. I think I heard it's the first one in California, also. Just thought I'd see what you guys thought about it.

Here's a pic of the store (sorry its so small):

Later.....

Well my son called me the other day and was all excited and was saying something about shotguns that cost more than his house did and was going on and on and he was going to send me a picture.
He was at the opening of the one at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga.

He is all into guns and mountain bikes but if they had parts for my truck I would have been there the first day too.

BTW are you anywhere by the I-210 and the I-15?
Jim
He took this with his shoe camera.

Theres a basspro 20miniutes from my house deffinatly cool to goto everynow and again however they have done away with most of their reloading components so I dont visit as frequently anymore. I also think Cabelas has better gear.

The one at Katy Mills is like an Academy with boats, and fancy fixtures. They have a boat repair shop and boat sells. They don't sell skeeter though I remember because I tried to get a part for mine.

They have more guns than academy.. I don't think as many as gander mountain though?

They also have an indoor bow range.

Pretty nice place.

If you are into hunting and fishing then Bass Pro is your dream store. They sell boats and accessories too. A few of them have golf sections too.

Dang ours didn't have a dedicated section for golfers that I saw!

One thing is for sure, unlike most box stores things are in order. I'm sure marketing folk have a word to call this, but I hate stores where you have to go down each isle to find what you want!!! This design is made to provoke you into buying more stuff. BassPro isn't like this so much. They even had an isle for FlashLights . Pretty nice, no stress. You need a flashlight, they are all on one isle and you won't miss anything by not going down each isle!
