The barter system

I have a buddy who owns a local chain tire shop.

Since I bought a set of Duramax wheels for my kids 1974 3/4 ton cheby 2wd with a NEW 454 I have been looking for custom lug nuts to accomplish mounting of the factory center caps. (Ordered through my buddy also).

When we had to dispose of the old tires and wheels legally. I called him.I also wanted to swap one of the old tires on one of the old rims so my kid would have a pair to waste at the track.

My buddy mounted and balanced the tire and disposed of all 4 of the junk tires and wheels for $0.00. "I'll catch you on this the next time "
(Ever since I rolled by this guys shop at 11pm stopped and checked to see that everything was ok(lights still on ) I can, seemingly, do no wrong.)

Just when my smart Edit kid,(got it from his mother I swear ), piped up with, You "ALWAYS" have a buddy who can ......

The bill would have been over $100.00 and I got it for free just because I have a buddy who can........... AND IT SHUT MY SMART Edit KID UP IN A HURRY!

I love it, and just had to tell the story!

Don't you have a buddy who can..........?

I got my entire $10k foot surgery for free except for $200 in blood work. Does that count? It always helps to know someone.

Gotta add to this one,

Picked up a Stainless 4" Magnaflow muffler (like new) and a sweet MBRP tip on Craigs List-
Cost was a case of Corona and a 5th of Tequila- nice

Had the muffler installed at a local exhuast shop-
Cost was $40, a 12 pack of Corona and 8 ears of Sloughouse Sweet Corn.

Gotta love the barter system

Talk about barter - have a look at this:

http://oneredpaperclip.blogspot.com/

This guy started trading with one red paperclip and in a years time ended up with a house (in Saskatchewan = which isnt nearly as good as it sounds).
