Axial Load Capacity of Schedule 40 steel pipe 4" diameter
Ok, been searching the web for about an hour and found a lot of interesting info on large diameter piers, concrete piles and such for load capacity testing etc. I could not find what I wanted, specific load capabilities of 4" schedule 40 pipe.
What I have:
I have to remove some stairs that are load bearing on a floor. In it's place I am putting an I beam, with the pipe to support. This is a basic description but just to give an idea.
What I'm looking for:
Anybody out there and engineer that can point me in the direction of a site that I can obtain such information. Surely there I'm not the first to wonder what kind of vertical load a 4" piece of pipe can support.
Thanks for any info....
