Legally or illegally.

Really it's all legal since those trails have been there for decades and are right of ways.

Get on high lifter and look in the places to ride section.

highlifter.com then click on mudhole and it brings you to forums like these. go to places to ride and look up spring rides, there is a guy with a user name of somethng like byonce or something and ask him, he maintains those old trails... I ride with him quite a bit.

I know it may not have trails but the Texas Ski Ranch is alot closer to you than the Conroe-Spring area. I have passed by there before and the track looks pretty good from the freeway.

If you want to know around conroe, there is 3 palms Motocross track. There are trails in the back that you can ride quads on. Other than that im not sure.

Might be a little trip from Conroe but here is where we go, we usually camp out and stay a few days. Great time and well worth it. The second link is a place weve been to once and its probably the best time Ive had camping and muddin, they both have events a different times of the year.

I live in Magnolia too. There are no trail systems out here that I know of.

I go to Crosby, there is a park off hwy 90 there. I use to live in Galveston and know that park well since it was the closest. You can also go to General Sams up in Huntsville. I've ridden spring creek a few times too late night but you need to be with someone out there that knows the trails and where to avoid the cops at.

What do you ride? You are welcome to join my group if you have snorkles and mud tires.

The trails off of hwy 90 in Crosby are known as Fat Man's Land. Entry is next to the motocross park on FM 2100, north side there is a gravel road that goes down to some pipe yards. Fat Man has a parking area at the dead end of that road. He charges ya a couple of bucks and gives ya a band to put on your 4 wheeler that makes you legal. Just remember that the State of Texas put a kibosh on running any 4 wheelers in "any navigable waterway", for whatever that means. There are some really nasty nasty holes at this place so be careful. If you trail right, you can go as far north as old hwy 90 bridge to a couple of watering holes and imbibe in adult beverages too!!!!!

I hear that spring creek isn't navigable water, I also hear the cops are cracking down around Bender's Landing.

'Fat man's land' is called Outlaw park (it's where the white people go, the other park is like Mexico), $5 to park there and the land you really ride on is owned by the school district. In Crosby you can cross from one side of the San Jacinto to the other side in one place that's navigable and that is down under the bridges (I think that's called the beach) if you ride a water wheelie across and the tide is low enough, I've actually seen it low enough so that you don't have to wheelie across if you have high enough snorkles.

Anyway...... I type a lot. But I might be riding out at Crosby this weekend if I don't have to work.
