It is a tragedy for any parent to loose a child under those or any other circumstances. The fact that it happened in Aruba has hardly anything to do with it. Saddly there are enough instances where tragedies similar to this happen localy throughout this country. (last week a 9 year old girl stabbed an 11 year old friend in the heart in an argument over a rubber ball)
We as a soiciety are failing as parents [present company excluded of course] Just think about it: It is not enough for a few of us who by the grace of God managed to "do the right thing" by our children and prepare(d) them for the real world and instill(ed) in them good values etc. etc. We MUST also influence, inspire, guide those of our peers that we see failing at it, for whatever reason, and whenever that is not possible, in some way try to take up at least some of the slack, because when today's neglected child either becomes a victim or victimises someone, looking at "WHY" will hardly make a difference.

Somwhere this vicious circle of irresponsibility must be broken and "why me?" or "not me" will not do it.

Just the way i see it...

Peter

Bet she even had shoes.... how unknowledgable. Not to worry, Kalifornia feels the same, we pay $90,000 for a house, you pay $250,000 for the same house, and the Left Coasters pay $500,000. And you call Alabama poor and stupid? Enough, gotta head for the outhouse, now where is that Sears Catalog?

Ahhh, a good natured member! (my step Dad was born and raised in Alabama, he didn't have indoor plumbing until he was 15 yrs old). No Joke Folks, the south is moving into the 21 st. Century!!

I think MCMLV covered a few bases that ALL of us have been missing. This crap IS happening in our own back yards!
Anohter good example is how most Americans treat Teachers and Administrators these day's. Almost as if it's them and their children AGAINST the school system???

Go Figure why this counrty is heading in the wrong direction?? From technological leader of the world to 97% of the goods imported from China and sold a your local Wal-Mart.

There were 3 girls and 9 guys..it was my adjustment period to go to Boot camp when i got back.......

Why are yall complaining about Aruba the same crap happens in our back yards everyday. Watch the news. You ain't gotta go to aruba to get kidnapped or robbed or even murder.

You can where the wrong clothes in the USA and get murdered for it. I love this country but it aint perfect.

They can stay inside an air conditioned house, play X Box, and get money free from mommy without working for it. We are headed for a real problems in this country when our kids don't understand the meaning and value of work and money.

My GOD I wish I had your Grandparent's generation here right now...

I hate to break it to you guys, but ya'll getting old...
