Morning y'all. It's April all ready. Hope everyone is fairing well.
26° and the wind is picking back up a little as the next storm rolls through today and tomorrow. We are supposed to get 3-4" of snow, as warm as it will get, it may turn to rain during the day.
One of our part 121 operators was shut down Friday night and everyone laid off. It doesn't look like they will come back. All of our out of state pilots and mechanics have been let go. Other pilots and mechanics on rotation in the villages are stuck there. 8 of my part 135 aircraft have been parked, more to follow. Mainly, all we are doing now is hauling freight. Passengers by pre established charters only. Alaska Airline has cut its flights in half in AK. My supervisors daughter in lost wages, NV may have caught the virus. He may bail on use to be with his family. No loss there.
29° and light snow overnight. About an inch so far. Rained yesterday evening. Spent the day watching kitten videos on utube and power napping. Probably do more of the same today.
A little snow yesterday, but 50F today.
Seems like spring is coming to VT. The maple syrup guys are starting to wind down the season in the warmer areas. I still have a bunch of snow in the woods around my house.
Good morning. Don't know whether I should say this for fear of losing my life, but it is gorgeous down here in Florida. This is our time. Clear skies,
gentle breezes, days in the high 70's with birds everywhere, Alligators in our lake in the subdivision and also in the pond at our ranch. Flowers blooming
and perfect for my morning bike ride. Tough having to put up with all this stuff. I see forecast called for scattered shower for Thursday of next week.
Hope all are staying safe and are well in this crazy time we are in. That is about the only thing I can see bad here. So, behave and don't get crazy and
do something stupid. I will take care of that for you. ha ha
Over here the situation is a bit frustrating, but manageable.
The economy is going down, but at least there aren't too many deaths. So a recovery of the economy seems feasible.
Hope all are doing well in this dreary time. Stay safe, be bored, stay home, behave. Those are tough instructions - - sorry. Been putsing around
the house outside and doing some file cleaning inside, both paper files and digital files. Boring, but necessary once in every 50 years or so. LOL
I'm alive, not that anyone on the internet would be impacted otherwise.
Still working on the moneypit. Nothing else to do consider comrade Murphy has prevented me from doing anything for my business. I work alone, I travel alone, I'm alone on the job, I'm alone during the job, I'm alone after the job is done until I see my wife at home greeting me when I pull in the driveway. My customers generally don't even come outside unless I'm requesting them to do so, since 99% of my work is outside.
Last job, customer never came near me, left a check in the bush next to where I was working, and I emailed them their paid receipt with instructions and warranty paperwork.
Yes I'm a threat to society.... or is it the 500 convicts he just let out the other day into a "pandemic" with nowhere to go, no work to go to, no chance of finding work. Yup... I'm a hazard.
I am beginning to grasp the concept of "depression" that I've witnessed other people go through, not being able to understand it. I get it now.
Hope all are well. Listen to your captors until they release your sorry asses.
36° and mostly cloudy. Supposed to get rain the next few days. Been above freezing with occasional rain. Looks like we will stay mostly above freezing until fall. A lot of the snow has melted and I was able to get into the work shop finally.
Got a full time temporary minimum wage gig (pays twice what unemployment does) hauling groceries to "stay-at-home" shoppers. They order on line, the store packs the bags and loads the truck, then I deliver to their front door wearing a mask and gloves. They except or reject the delivery via an app on their smart phone then I am on my way to the next delivery. Pretty much no contact all the way around.
While I tend to agree with a lot of people about the lockdown being a pain in the butt and how it affects our "rights" , I've also been watching the places where they have eased some restrictions and a lot of the people are going nut's acting like the virus has gone away.. not happening. I don't think you are causing a problem if you are not sick and you go for a hike or a drive or what ever floats your boat.. (ahh fishing) and I know some of the states do not want you going anywhere.
The wife and I live in a area where it's twenty miles to the nearest city ( population about 3500, and there are plenty of lakes and rivers that see little use and also a lot of miles of forest service road and back country roads as well. So several times a week we will take a drive to see the spring elk herds before they go back to the high country, that helps keep the depression wolves at bay
Last weekend interesting mailbox There were 23 in this bunch and 3 small bulls still had spikes 04/18/20
A neighbor I spend Christmas with, do some work for, and have known for 20 plus years is a lefty divorced 64 year old, woman with some " mental " issues. Shes a good person and I'm there for her when I can, as she was there for my mother in law, and wife when my wife's mom was alive and passed. Shes alone, and I called today to see how she was.
She is losing it (mind) because she's pretty much lost her income, lost her future income from this (she's an aerobics instructor for elderly people in a local fitness center) . those people most likely won't be back from, this.
With that happening, she's losing her healthcare. Shes freaking out because of all the economic troubles heading our way. It's going to get rough for a lot of us, and she's facing that now.
Today, when I called to check on her, she was flipping out about folks in Florida on the beaches not staying home. Granted, they are 1000 miles away, she's freaking out that they're disobeying Flimflam Fauci and his guidelines, even though its the governor of Florida's decisions driving the release of Florida's homebound citizens. She said these selfish people are going to cause a huge resurgence of the virus., and it's killing her mentally, and will cause us to be locked down again.
Personally, I'm not going to excessively worry, as I do not have the power to change anything other than myself.
What will be.....will be. Lets hope for the best and live each day as it comes is how I'm going to proceed from here
Took the wife, broke the rules, and enjoyed ourselves staying away from everyone in a park. Yeah its illegal according to our state AG, but I made it out alive

Good for you. We are all still American's and have basic freedoms in my opinion.
I am amazed and horrified that a large majority of the population is waiting and hungry for the government's next "step" in allowing, or hindering our activities. Comrade Wolf has shut down the majority of our economy here in Pennsyltucky, but most of the people I know are farmers and truckers and are running as wide open as they can. I feel bad for the other friends I have that are bartenders and waitstaff that depend on tips to make ends meet, and unfortunately our planning commission has decided that tourism provided a more viable economy vs manufacturing for this region.
I have no doubt this man made sickness is dangerous, but shutting down the economy worries me more.
Since the virus is on its way out, and our governor is ever increasing his stronghold on the sheeple of NJ. I figured I'd head out in the dodge and get some food at the local supermarket. After witnessing a woman at a local Whole Foods yesterday wearing a full body condom, I thought I'd get my headgear up and running so I can buy a few veggies there too.
