Wow, what a refreshing throwback to the old days when the coffee room was on fire....some names mentioned I haven't seen in a long time. I still lurk about and only comment when I am sure it'll be helpful.
The PNW is being a cranky binosh this fall with a lot of wind (usually on garbage night eve) and the usual warm temps keeping everything wet. Leaves down early and mostly in my yard due to being at end of long street pointing due SW.
Great news! My wife filled her deer tag out on the Peninsula a couple weeks back. Bad news- she got it with our Suburban. They would have called it a total loss if the air bags deployed. We'll see how she drives once we get it back...
Bad news again, finally wore out the clutch in the 2500, got 179,435 miles out of it. Trans shop says that is pretty good considering towing #'s and what not. New one tripled the cost of the last one in 2008, but a few improvements at South Bend ensured it would be better than before, sure shifts nicely...my old lab mix has taken ill and his days are numbered, still up for treats and short walks. Looking forward to a little slow down over the holidays.

Weather is bitterly cold here thanks to our friends up there. It shouldn't be bitter, but feels so.
I digress.
Been trying to stay alive in this chitty economy. Every contractor I know is hurting. I stopped into a local supply house (siding), mom and pop shop for the last 40 years, and asked them how they were doing? She said:
"oh, you mean like 2008 ? Yup, all the contractors are complaining they're not working / landing the jobs they are used to."
This year sucks eggs, and it shows to some of us in the trades. I should have opened a dispensary, or a liquor store, or a WAWA convenience store. I'd be swimming in cash.
Doing repairs on my old dump trailer. I had some old scrap around, so I welded in a new sidepanel, and closed up the stake pockets.
Gonna extend the sides up with metal at some point.
Found some old muffins and corn bread in my freezer. Might have a little frost on them, but they'll be fine once they thaw out.
