pro's cons?

i was shipping by just typing out the forms, but kept seeing everyone else drop the boxes & run, so i signed up for an account.

in the past, the Counter girl would write my cost to ship on the form,
and hand it back. i would then e-mail guy & let him know much to pay.

now, here's a question. if i do a label online, it shows me the cost.

but if i take a box to work with me, and can't do a label at work,
and i just drop it off and hand write the ground shipping receipt,
why doesn't that shipment ever show up in my website account?

i dropped about 10 boxes the other day, (first time doing it) and they billed my account for the cost, but did not tell me the cost, i dropped them and left.

figured i could take the number on the ground shipping form, and look that up on my website account, but it appears if you don't do an online shipping label,
it is never gonna show up until you get billed (they take a long time to bill)

so how do i figure out the shipping cost?

 

Ask when you drop it off. They didn't give you a receipt? That's strange. Even when I use my account I at least know how much it's going to cost me. If it has the weight or size on the receipt, you can go on their site & get a general idea.

 

they are swamped - 2 guys in a office, usually pretty busy, with few slow periods during day. not worth the wait sometimes,

was just wondering if i was missing something about thier website.

the weird part of thier website, is if i click one of the shipments i did do on there, it does not give me delivery data, i have to cut & paste the # into the tracking section.

just don't seem as easy it should be
