I continue to be told..."you don't want anything to do with Mississippi." what is wrong with Miss.? I am researching now, but does anyone live there or has recently? TIA - JKE

Did a bit of checking and the federal wage grade salary range is within .25 - .35 per hour. That's comparing Jackson and Greenville. Good fishing. Lots of farm land.
they have a lower crime rate than South Carolina....except murder and they are number 2. Total miss population is very close to ours. Cost of living there looks pretty low. Property tax came in about the same. We have a facility there. Could be a nice increase in wages..If I were considered. There sure are a lot of houses for sale! That could be the same for any state though. Farm land is next on my list for researching. I do not want to speak up about a position without the proper information and making dang sure this is where we will be willing to live...short term (5 years). Trying to get school info...nothing yet, but SC is pretty low. surely Miss is higher than we are

I know, I know....Lake Kissimmi and Okechobee have a few ring necks, teal and pintail missing
. Blue bills took a beating from time to time as well
. Kind of an expensive activity. Good eating though. I haven't done any since we have lived here. That's OK though. I needed a break from the high brass.
....nooooooo, I don't flinch.....

Ross Barnett, just east of Jackson, is a good place to fish. Better yet is the oxbow/finger lakes off the Mississippi. About 30 minutes away. Bream and crappie are coming on pretty good. There has been a bunch of 1 1/2 to 2 lbs redears being caught. Crappie good most all the time around the cypress flats. Rattleheaded copper moccasins are in season also
