Anybody have a Lexus RX-300?

It's time for the 30k service and the dealer is going to charge an arm and two legs. Our friends had the 15k service done at the same dealer we go to and it cost them $500 (and according to the service manual, the only fluid changed at 15k was oil, everything else was inspected). For the 30k, the coolant, engine oil and brake fluid gets changed. Tranny and diff. fluid is just checked along with a bunch of other crap.
Has anyone had a Lexus dealer perform the 30k service? If so, what did it run you? My wife is the one who takes the car to the dealer for all its maintenance (I feel like a turd in a punch bowl at the place) and the last time she was there for an oil change, he suggested we get it done or they could void the warranty? Kind of ticks me off that he came on so heavy handed to her, is that legal (to void the warranty)?
Oh well, we are prepared to "pay to play", I knew when we bought the car to be prepared for expensive preventative maintenance, but >$500 is ridiculous. We bought the car with 13k miles on it, and the warranty is for 3 years/100k miles (less the 13k on it), so the warranty runs out next year in May.

What'd you expect, buyin' that expensive furrin car?

Just kidding! You might do a search on Car and Driver's website. If they've done a long-term test on one they typically publish that type of info. Or maybe call around to other Lexus dealers or even Toyota dealers.

That was my wife's suggestion too, call a Toyota dealer and see what they would charge. The Toyota Highlander is the same vehicle basically.
