Heard that before about Southern Alberta boarder during elk season----drop one you best have a buddy holding a rifle when you gut the sucker.Few years back a fella when in alone/dropped a bull but "YOGI" wandered in looking for dinner---the hunter was a bonus to the bear

I feel you pain them dagnab critters are a pain a few week back the lady across the street caged a skunk and animal control came out and killed it ,that night its partner
must of thought I did it and crawled under my house and sprayed it real good ,My wife and I thought we would die or at least burn down the house a couple days later one of the 3rd gens was headed to a job and 30 min. later I get a call ...trucks dead. so I load up another truck take it to then and haul the other one home to fix it.
well what do I find.....A squirrel was in there long enough to jump out after it got to hot, only to die in the fan belt and kill the truck. not to mention the rats that eat out the truck wires over night anymore if it crawls on the ground I kill it!

I don't know.......It doesn't look big enough to me but for sure something is on that branch. And the one I saw came in from the right side of that photo.

As I told you in the story there is a nesting pair of Golden Eagles on the next ridge over and this year we saw a 3rd one so obviously they have been successfully reproducing here. I wonder if that could be one of the younger ones?.....It is possible I suppose that more than the one Eagle was nearby waiting on a chance to grab him.

I will check out the original photo in editor and see if I can get it clearer.

Thanks Keith

My Grandson thought I was the bestest Pepaw in the whole wide world when I gave that to him at 7 yrs of age He LOVES his Red Ryder BB gun now at 9 but then he is allowed to handle that more often than this one.

I am a Gunsmith and I build Custom Rifles, I am building him a 7mm Mag on a Large Ring Mauser now. I have a Custom Walnut stock with Cherry inserts on the fore-end and pistol grip area. It needs about 100 more coats of hand rubbed oil and then it will be ready for him. No hurry obviously as it will be a few years before he is big enough to handle it

I made one for my Nephew similar to this and that thing is a real tack driver, I jewel the bolt and of course engrave their name on the floor plate and fill all the markings in 24 kt gold. A real one off that I hope they will take care of long after I am dead and gone.

Obviously he was up to no good or he would not have been wearing a mask

I have no proof but reliable sources tell me there is a chance he was a member of a Terrorist Sleeper cell. The fact that he was sleeping at the time may indeed lend credibility to that fact...... and I fear an attack on my new grill cover may have been imminent due to the lack of food from the latest snow storm.

I found a photo of the Custom Mauser I built with the same stock I am building now for my grandson. This one is a 30:06 Douglas XX Air gauged barrel and my own design of furniture.

The new one will look the same, just a different caliber. This photo was taken just prior to the engraving and Gold fill. I will have to keep looking to see if I have one at that stage.

One photo I took without flash and you can see the custom pistol grip and fore arm on the stock a little better.

Lary, I am curious. Call this a thread hijack if you want to.
When you make a gun from scratch, what do you do about the serial number? Is there a legal format you follow to make it up and then is there a requirement to register this with some up to no good government authority? What happens if you (or the person you give the gun to) starts to use the gun without a serial number?
