5 star yea right

iI took my truck in for the recalls and to get the ashtray fixed and speedo recalibrated. I go to pick it up and the mechnic says "i don't know why they had you bring it in we don t have the parts"
So i go to leave and they charge my account $350 dollars for changing the trasmission fluid and flushing the cooling system I call them back and ask them y did they change all the fluides and he says it was on the work order. We tried to work it out and he knows he's in the wrong and asks me if i want him to fix it and he tells me he will pay for it then tells me to find a new warrenty place and dealership and hung up on me. To top it all off the truck didn't heat, it was way low on coolant and had a vapor lock. Never buy a truck from there again

Venting is fine.

Thanks for following the site rules.
Sounds like someone fell asleep in Customer Service training.
I hope you can find a good dealer to handle all your maintenace needs.

PS: Mentioning Dealer names in a "venting" post could get our keester in a sling and will get the post pulled.

When I've taken my truck in for recall work, I stay right there and keep a watchful eye out. Hopefully you will post on the above link, so I know if this "steeler" in anywhere near me.

I doubt this guy owns the place, call the secretary and ask for an appointment to see the manager/owner and remind him the truck won't be under warranty forever, it would be in their best intrest to keep you as a customer. For all you know he may or may not be on the edge of being fired for another incident anyway if he makes those kind of mistakes.

Slow down guys. Not too many dealerships that are gonna kick someone out the door unless there was some attitude going on. 3 sides to every story. I'd love to see the tech and white coat post here also. Then make your decisions....
I could probably dig up many different scenarios to this visit. Which one you wanna hear??

Had almost the same thing happen to me today (except for the fighting with the service guy). Made the apointment on Friday, droped the truck off today at 0800. Get a call at 1610 that they don't have the parts. The parts will be in in the morning.

Drove buy the dealer just to look and it looks like all they did was move it from the front to the back. I also wanted them to so the state inspection and that wasn't done either.

Going to have a nice little talk with the service writer and service manager tomorrow.

The more I think about this, the more PO'ed I get.

Thanks for letting me vent a little.
