2026 and yet another year alive

Is your new year, yesterday ?

or is your new year April 1st ?

If the latter, then you're an old fart living in the 12th century. If you don't know what I mean then do some research.

Welcome to yet another New Jeer. Are you ready ? Are you willing ? Are you even alive at this point, or just simply cruising around on autopilot ?

Cold, Cold, COLD.

18*F (-7.8 for you Canucks) and my doggies are aggravated that they have their toes pinching them, when they're out pinching in the morning. After all, being a ShihTzu can be difficult to bend your spine to get that loaf out, as if that's not enough. Long walks are out of the question, right now, but we still make it out to the Tel / electric utility pole, and back, getting business done.

Thins are quiet around here, considering the rugrats were still on winter break, and the neighborhood wasn't filled with narcissistic mothers in minivans, or at least until Monday next. Blocking my driveway will be spared, at least for a few more mornings.

Anyone know anyone who lives in Tenn ? My wife is looking at a property down there, but it seems a bit hot, and a bit backwards. I personally like backwards, but they (southerners), don't necessarily like us yankees, regardless of political, or socioeconomic viewpoints being aligned or not. 5 acres doesn't seem like enough, so maybe I'll direct her to something a bit larger. All a dream at the moment, but maybe 2026 won't suck like 2025 did.

Everyone in for the "paying your taxes boycott" ? seems like a good idea with all this corruption being exposed, every single cent of your tax dollars being swindled by these govt pigs.

Better yet, are you ready for the "Superflu" ? Get your mask on, retard. Your NPC membership requires it.

Have a wonderful 2026, Folks. It's all what ya make it, right ?

April 1st is not the new year — the Gregorian calendar, which is used globally today, designates January 1st as the official start of the new year. Despite occasional confusion or humorous claims that why April 1st is the new year stems from historical calendar reforms, this idea is based on a misunderstanding of how calendar systems evolved over time. While some ancient cultures did celebrate the new year at different times of the year — including around spring — modern global tradition firmly places New Year’s Day on January 1st. April Fool’s Day, observed on April 1st, has no connection to the beginning of the calendar year and instead developed as a day of pranks and lighthearted deception.fahrenheit

You can keep your cold. Any temperature numbers (in Centigrade) that are less than 10 or that has a minus in front of it is a no-no for me. Lived in climate with those horrible numbers for years and moved away. Now have not seen snow or done any snow shoveling for many years. I am blessed to be able to do this. BTW,I grew up using fahrenheit, then moved to a country that uses metric, then back to non metric and now back to metric. From experience, centigrade and other metric measurements, is hands down a better system than fahrenheit, miles, inches etc. Isn't the metric system officially recognized as the preferred system of measurement in the USA but for some reason is not used?

Not trying to be negative, but unfortunately sundry 'experts' from many different walks of life are predicting that 2026 is going to be a year like never before with many nasty things happening all over the world, including the high possibility of a global economic crash.

I think it is from back when Julius Augustus added July and August, but what would I know... I guess that would make New Year's March 1....no wait, nevermind.

My aunty and Uncle moved to TN about 7 years ago and love/hate it. They came from Niagara Falls so it was quite a change for them both climate and people wise. Blue collar so not too much friction fitting in. The weather swings and humidity is the main complaint, coupled with the bugs and critters. Expense wise they want for nothing....all I got.

I agree with Mex, I lived in SoCal as a youth and never appreciated owning one hoodie and mostly shorts and sandals...now my closet looks like an Inuit dresses out of it.

Have a great day,
Kurt

Kind of was a tongue in cheek joke, so no mind now.

Yeah, cold is tough, but heat can be just as tough for some. I guess it's all what you're used to, whether its sweaty nuts and dribbles down your legs, along with some stank butt, or nuts that find themselves sucked back up into your pelvis hiding the mini dongle also hiding in the brush, stank butt may or may not be applicable, depending on who's smelling it.

You Sir are not being "negative". You're just looking at it from a point of clarity and candor, which is highly appreciated. Squirrel soup for all by the end of '26

woo hooo !

Happy (late) New Year!

Still dropping by from time to time.
Site is a distant shadow of what it used to be before the buyout.

Cold is a state of mind.

Polar Bear ride @38* on 01JAN26
(blue trike is mine)

Have a Great (and safe) 2026.

Nice looking ride. My biking days are long gone, Occasionally still get the itch, but my wife would have lots to say if I dared to start riding again, especially riding on the local roads with all the inconsiderate traffic.

Just to clarify something. A few posts ago I mentioned about not liking the cold and moved to a warmer climate with zero snow. Just because I now live permanently in Mexico does not mean living in a hot climate. Many people are under the misconception that all of Mexico is hot. My area has a moderate climate with summer temperatures seldom going above 30 degrees C. Most daily max temps are around 27 or 28C with very low humidity. Extremely comfortable. This is also a semi arid area. In case it interests some of you, this was in the news a few days ago. I live in this city with an off the grid cottage up the mountians an hours drive from there. https://mexiconewsdaily.com/travel/q...to-go-in-2026/

Con-vid epidemic that was bestowed upon us as their "test", was a horror for some, while others, like myself, was an eye opener, and opportunity to better myself as a person.

The deception and malfeasance gave me a clear delieation as to how I would conduct my life, regarding health and wellness, until my time comes. I found my reasons to become responsible for my own health and wellness.

During 2020, I ballooned to the weight of 245 lbs. 5 years, and nearly 50 lbs lost later, my goal, not yet attained, is within my grasp over the next year or so. 190 is not so far away anymore.

Discovering the mal intent of both the allopathic model, and big business, I have become the scrutinizing curmudgen I always wanted to be 😃

Attached is a recipe for toothpaste Im copying, so i continue my own personal reduction of toxins in commercial products we are all exposed to daily.

A scrutinizing curmudgen???? Is that a move up or down from being an old fart?

We are all responsible for our own health. Don't trust doctors! Your body is the the result of what you put in your mouth and lately, also what you allow to be injected into your body. Big pharma and big ag are NOT your friends! Doctors are great for saving your life in an emergency such as a broken bone, but the average doctor today knows zero about maintaining health and healthy eating. I see that MAHA a few days turned the traditional food pyramid upside down snd that is a good start. Both my wife and I take zero meds, don't use masks, have refused all jabs including the flu jab and are in above average good health and at the perfect weight for our body type and height.

100% on everything..

Even the curmudgen part 😃💯👍

🤣🤣

You and I have converged onto the same pathway, albeit my path had a few diversions.

I take zero meds, jabs, and take full reaponsibility for my own health. You hit the nail on the head, but whatever you do, dont tell John D. that you know what he planned out over 100 years ago.

Weighing in under 200 for the first time since the 1980's tells me I'm doing myself right. Who knows where Id be today if I let them do that disc surgery on my back, vs the 2 years of stretching, and exercise implementation I chose to do, instead.

Off to the daily stretchfest ! Enjoy your Sunday

yes, misconception indeed. Mexico being a close second to Hades is what is sometimes conveyed.

You sound very happy in your little paradise. Very lucky to have found it.
