Is 15w40 too thick?
The question is beening frased as a chatch 22, do you want your motor to last or start in the winter, below 10w anything is too thin , if the conditions are such that the eng. will not turn over fast enough to start you need to take other measures , heat - block, garage, ect. I've had more than one conversation with oil lab techs. and they say that below 10w starts[more thannormal] eng. damage , I'm sure alot of aditudes may pop up , but its realy just thinking about a problum , if you can not put some source of heat to your problum then there is usally more opptions, like using the thin oil and adding a pre oiler system , whitch is the best thing to do nomater what.
