I got an 04 durango with the 5.7 hemi and i am having problems with it every so often idling rough at a stop light like it is gonna die, well today it did die while at a stop light but started right back up and hasnt done anything since. I am wondering what this can be. Thanks

 

Could be a couple things but since there are no codes it sounds like gummed up valves + a miss-spark around every 500 to 800 rpm..... I had this same thing with a 4.7l Durango.... Run some Shell V Power + other Fuel Cleaning Agents through it. Then FOG the fuel system and replace all spark plugs + wires.... Change the oil, and see if it does it again...... Also could be the O2 sensor, Intake air temp sens, Extremely Dirty Filter, but all of these conditions should throw a code. Good Luck!

 

Or it could be that non replaceable fuel filter in the fuel tank... grrrr dang durangos... my mom has an 04 4.7 with the same problems but only early in the morning when its cold...

 

No code? I'd say it could be bad fuel. Do what boost says. If that doesn't work. You could have other problems. The only other stuff I could think of would throw a CEL.
