Geico reporting for duty, Sir.

What a nightmare of a trip. I fly commercial to Syrcuse, NY from Lincoln, NE to pick a plane that is supposed to be ready to go, full of fuel, ready to rock. I get there 3 hours before the big storm hits so I can preflight and GO! Cut across Canada, to MI, and SW to Lincoln and I'm VFR (visual flight rules) all the way! I sump the fuel tanks and discover a large amount of rust, crap, and other non combustables, that are clearly not intended for gas or diesel engines, and old, skunky, auto gas in the tanks. I had specifically, told him in writing I wanted FRESH 100LL aviation fuel.

Contrary to what he told me, it's been 6 months since he has flown it.

The weather closes in and I'm gonna be stuck for 4 days. Scratch plan "A". I rent a car and DRIVE 1,253 miles back to Lincoln, average speed 72mph (includes 4 fuel / food stops that TOTALED 25 mins.) took 15 hours.

Geico, old buddy, glad you're here! As they used to say on the old commercial, you're what's for dinner..........now that the diner's open again. Dssimecek, don't sweat it! The reason it used to get named later was because the only people up that late were on the east coast. Before I forget, anybody got ant good lizard recipes? Got to run now, one of my church buddies' father was rushed to the hospital yesterday and I've got to fill in on his bus route. I've got about 30 some odd souls that need a lift to church so I'll catch you all a little later in the day. Thanks standupguyhat, I know you've got my back! (probably point my face at the machine gun, but you've got my back)

Yeah, I'm the admin butthead that shut one down. We use to do that years ago and would have 10 or 12 daily threads. Someone suggested a weekly thread and Jack said OK. And he's the boss. SO that's what we've been doing ever since.

Yup. Yup. (No further commentary needed!) J/K!

Someone needs to put those little '*' marks in front of the thread name tho if you're not gonna put the prestigious name of the janitor in there somewhere. Hard to find it without 'em!

Not even noon yet and we are up to 8 above, looks to be warming up finally. Friends place actually has 2 icicles on the south side of his garage where the sun is warming it enough to drip a little. Now break up is always a blast. Funny thing on this new PC, They shipped it FedEx, which don't deliver past Anchorage, FedEx then transfer the freight to USPS to my local post office. Then they bring a slip of paper 30 miles out to tell me I have a package I have to sign for. No big deal. That's the norm here, but dell felt that was way to long to wait so they gave me 120 "Dell Dollars". now when it finally arrived the box the speakers were in had gotten wet some how and a corner of the subwoofer was broken. Now they are shipping a new set by DHL, which also don't deliver to the any where in the state, so I got a phone call yesterday from the Dell customer service person in the Philippines that I have been dealing with, and after she apologized a thousand times and I told her about how things get to us, she is shipping another new set by USPS, Gave me another 100 Dell dollars, and I get to keep all 3 sets of speaker sets they sent. As soon as I get my 220 dell bucks I'm buying a new digital cam.

I think that's the one my sister-in-law has and it takes great pics. If you buy it, pm me and I'll send you a link for chips on the cheap.
