Morning Stan - - no one else out of bed I guess. I have been up a while but too lazy and still relaxed to turn on the computer - - I knew that reading all this weird stuff would bring on stress and just wasn't ready for it. ............

Happy you are happy with weather - - rain finally stopped but wow is it humid. Very foggy out right now - - could not see the end of the block. We are due for 75 high today, 78 tomorrow and 81 for the first days of next week. More like it.

Not much since last night so grab my ph00 (thanks) and gone..............

Hey, glad the trip went well. Now on to bigger and better and more family friendly adventures. Hang in there big guy - - it is going to get better.

DependableBobby
Being home every night not worrying about if its icy windy and -40 or colder is going to be so nice.
I think the truck leaked more then a standard depends would hold. clean up later today.

H1N1 is really hitting hard up here. A few folks near us have died from it. One gal healthy as can be succumbed in 12 hours in the icu. Nobody knows if she had a flu shot or not.

Shortage of shots is the problem now.

Going to be a sad day today. They're coming to take my 91 away. Going to miss that old hulk, went through a lot of life changes together.
General aviation shops can't charge much more than an auto shop or people just won't do business with them. The BIG plane shops can charge what they want as they cater to businesses and high dollar aircraft.

Good morning all y'all, I think things are returning to normal with respect to weather. It is going to be bitter cold in southern Alberta for at least the next week. I knew we were being spoiled the last few weeks. The poor puppy was doing his business in a snow drift this morning and he kept trying to left one of his freezing cold rear paws all while trying to stay in a squat to do his business. It think his pee came out as little yellow ice cubes. We got a bit of snow yesterday but we had almost 12 hours of of 50 mph wind. The wind made a lot of really interesting snow drifts. I darn near got my car stuck just going to pick up the mail. I was planning on using the snowblower on the quad today but I really hope it warms up a bit because as it is right now I would freeze very quickly.

Have a good day everyone and play safe.

Wow Sean, you guys have had up that way - - and down into the states quite deep. I just got a note from the company that left here on Tuesday headed for Chicago. They made it to outskirts of Atlanta and then weaved in and out of parked or abandoned cars on the interstate to their friends house. Snowed and frozen in on Wednesday - - they finally opened the interstate on Thursday at noon so they took off and got home late last night (Friday). Their drive was snow and ice in layers - - could not get up it. They sent the SEVERE weather alert for their area for today - - - STAY HOME if at all possible. Another 4-8" of snow plus ice all day. Sounds like I need to move up there again - - I really miss that stuff - - NOT. Our high today projected at 75 - - better hurry, still clouded in at noon but no rain and 68 degrees. I see no break in the clouds - - we will see. Better than snow.

All, lunch call is ringing - - YEH.

The wind has been on average 50 mph. Sometimes it drops to calm then gusts at or near 70.
Many large highway signs and billboards are knocked down and lots of wind storm claims and power outages.Sean our pooptastrophe is working out nicely. Great adjuster and contractors. Already got new drywall and final mud on Monday.

Very grateful for insurance. The next issue is preventing it from happening again. This will be a city issue as its their side thats causing the back ups. Yard will be dug up for that one.

Only -32 windchill. Balmy!

That is one reason I got rid of the sales and service business (the Canadian version of the US FBO) I founded. It is hard to make a profit, so went back to manufacturing large aircraft. That pays a LOT more, but is also less fun than general aviation. As of December 2013 am theoretically out of all of that, but ........

Cant remember. Do you have anti-freeze in the lines that go to the house from the boiler?

I get a little stressed if I wake up and watch news on the TV before I am fully awake but reading the newspaper is actually relaxing.

We just had our first confirmed death in Soldotna. 49 yo healthy guy. Took three days from symptoms to pneumonia.
His family says he was against vaccinations and had not gotten the shot.

I saw something today that I simply don't understand.

I saw a dodge dually with an exhaust tip on it that was probably 12" diameter and maybe 6" long welded to the end of stock exhaust. Why? I get the use of larger exhausts for better flow. I get the use of a large tip with venturis to flow extra air and cut soot.

When you have it long enough, put so much of your self into it, it becomes part of you. When it dies, that part of you dies with it.

You can't remember because I don't think I ever told you. It's just water. Antifreeze doesn't conduct the heat like water does and it's too expensive. Even if the OWB were to go out, the circulator pumps will keep it all from freezing.

Self-compensation for something else in his life that's not as big as it should be, that's my guess.

Q: What do you call an Seattle Seahawks with a Super Bowl ring?
A: A thief.

Q: What's the difference between the Seattle Seahawks and a dollar bill?
A: You can still get four quarters out of a dollar bill.

Q: What do the Seattle Seahawks and possums have in common?
A: Both play dead at home and get killed on the road!

there ya go. (your pic was hilarious) trash talk done. clink glasses and let's check out the food table.

hurt, tired. made a project work, then took it all apart and made it correct.

My outside boiler is a pressure vessel, so the whole system is only 30 gallons. 8 gallons of propylene glycol in it will keep it from freezing to about 0°F or maybe -10. It will keep things from breaking at colder temps because the expansion is greatly reduced.

30% glycol is about 95% as efficient as water alone. Above that the viscosity of the fluid raises heck with heat transfer. The calculations will give you a headache. I used to do glycol heat transfer engineering.

Most big bad atmospheric outside boilers just leave the circulator running. Alternative heat in the house is back fed into the system by whatever means and keeps it from freezing.

I had to use anti-freeze in mine since we are gone so much. One less thing to worry about.
Closed system holds 19 gals so I use 9 gallons of antifreeze. I installed the biggest expansion tank I could find and it has worked really well.

Speaking of food, part of tomorrows fare involves a small hibachi.
Got some beef, pork and chicken marinating along with very good thick slice peppered bacon.
Meat on a stick. Bacon cooked over a live fire is soooo good. Even have a few vegetables (for decoration).
