*** The Water Cooler *** 11/13 - 11-19
Just rolled in at 1:30 a.m. from an awesome trip with awesome fuel mileage.
Averaged 18.1 mpg calculated running empty at 70-85 mph and over 3000 miles! Will post pix later.
The trip down was excellent and on the way back we hit bad weather a few times...heavy snow, rain, high winds and ice.
Ready to go back south now.
These new Highway tread Toyo Tires were excellent!
Better then the more agressive tread of the Goodyears I had on and better then the Michelin LTX I have used for many years on all other vehicles.

....... I've been waiting for a slip of the tounge (in this case keyboard) to see who the guilty party was. I knew it was a conspiracy all along. "Next week's plan is to". Elementary my dear Watson, elementary.
Case closed.

WOOOO-HOOOO ....... WE GOT SNOW !!!! First skiff of the white stuff this year. Fiverbob and Mexstan, keep your eye out for the big brown truck today ... he's bringing you guys a German snowball.
Ed ... that window project sounds like what I will be going through in a couple months. They are building me a new office and quarterdeck and will be moving the bullet-proof glass around. The thing has got to weigh a ton and should be interesting to see how many snafu's they run into doing it.
Talked to a buddy from Key West yesterday ... said he was one of the lucky ones and only lost $25k worth of stuff during the hurricane
. Others are still living in the temp housing and have lost everything.
Well ... no coffee to make a pot with so I better run to the mini-mart and get some foo-foo coffee. Have a great day and stay warm ...

Temps outside in the upper 20s to low 30s.

FRIDAY.
Squadron T-Giving luncheon at noon today.
One thing about these chillllllly mornings,....they SURE do make that cup o coffee taste mmmmm-mmmmm gooooood.
Only 8 more hours of DWI to go.

Good morning. 24 here this morning
. Guess the bellpepper plants will look a little rough this afternoon. The to do list at home is longer than the one here...Shhhhhhh
.
Get to present my test data today...and get assigned all possible variations of testing on the same stuff (and some of which is completely unrelated as the conversation topic morphs as the meeting DRAGS on) to get the same results
. Do I work for the Gov?
"Yeah, this looks great, but I'd like to see...blah, blah, blah" If you would like to see it, get on out there and test it yourself. Well, that's my rant for the day. I feel better.
Ya'll have a good one. - JKE

Looks like it is going to be another great day here in Paradise in spite of the folks like PistolWhipt who is abviously very jealous of our fine weather. It has started off a little cool, only 52 degrees but is forecast to go to about 70. The skies are a cloudless, brilliant blue and the air is clean and fresh. AAhhhhhh.
Unfortunately it all goes downhill in a few hours as I have to go for a root canal. I hate going to dentists as I tend to gag very easily. I hate going to the dentist. I don't carry dental insurance as the dentists here are some of the best I have seen anywhere in the world and the rates are cheap. A root canal will probably be about US$100 or even a bit less. By the way, did I mention that I hate going to the dentist?

Yeh, in the high 50's here last night and going to 72 today - - gorgeous out, but a little chilly for the pool without the heater on. (By the way, did I mention that I hate going to the dentist?)
Got the house all put together again from the mess of the repipe - - plus, touch up painted all over, took the time to sort and throw and organize "STUFF". I agree with the other thread - - too much STUFF.
Got to go work on putting tools and "stuff" away in garage. (By the way, did I mention that I hate going to the dentist?)

Or does the same group of people just wander from meeting to meeting. If there are a million ways to test something or plot something, someone will come up with a million and one in a meeting, guaranteed, that never even crossed your mind. Or it did cross your mind, but you thought "That is incredibly stupid, no one would ever ask to see that".

Learned a few years ago not to bring in 10 lbs. of home made mashed potatoes in a container that is too big to heat in any of our microwaves. Went home with 9.5 lbs. of mashed potatoes
