Guess I never saw this post....
Here is the Jeep from my sig:

Some kids were playing with their RC Jeeps so I decided to play on Poser Rock during lunch too. It is a 97 TJ with the 4.0L, AX15, and stock NP231. HP30 f / D44 r with lockers. Only has 3" springs and a 1" body. 33x12.5" muds. Full cage and armor with gas tank moved up into the tub. It does very well right now but once I move out this craphole that is NoVA I will finally be able to start my 1-ton build. But for now it will hang with (most of) the big boys.

I have an 1986 Ford F-150 with a 4.9L I-6 motor. I have upgraded the motor with a 4BBL Carb, Clifford Intake/headders, Rhodes lifters, Clifford 290* Cam, Small Block Chevy Valves in the head, 3/8" Push Rods, Fabritech 10" Mono Beam Conversion, 3" Body Lift, Spooled 9" rear w/5.13 gears, 1978 Ford Dana 44 With LS and 5.13's, Eagle 058's, 38" TSL's.
Does very well for its size! Will climb like nobodys bussiness but dont get off camber!!!!

took awhile but I finally found some pics of my jeep to post.
got the jeep when I was 16 as a BONE stock 4banger and worked on it all through highschool. Most of the mods were outta necessity........grendaded both axles, destroyed the t-case, etc.... Unfortunately I never got around to swapping the mouse on a treadmill (a.k.a. 4banger) out for something that could actually do 65mph

I've noticed some guys have the Dana 44 axle. How is that holdin up? I have an old K5 I'm gonna build up, maybe 36-37 inch tires. I hope the Dana44 and 12 bolt don't snap on me.
I wouldn't post a pic now, that thing looks like a pos but it runs sweet.

The Dana 44 is good to me....i run 38's and a LSD. The key here is not to get crazy with the throttle in tight turns, or lock the fnt. IF you stick to that.....it will prolong the axle shafts....but i feel its only a matter of time! At that point....CTM joints and Cromoly(SP?) Shafts....that should help! I also have the 4.9L....just enough power to get what i want done.....now to keep this carb running when i get her off camber.....not to mention keeping all 4 on the ground! haha.....
O and Tyler.....
You are very welcome! Its a good thing that we had that Stock Ford half ton to pull you out.........man...

See, i keep hearing that.....how is it Bad? Your axles carry the load of the truck every day with no issue....and pulling from them is bad?....i just dont see that......Dodge needs to get a few hooks on the fnt of these things! Some times you got to do what you gota do......
