I think if the weather is nice next weekend I will install the head studs. Maybe the next week or two later I will install the twins. Weather permitting. I'm really not in a rush, they just have to be on for Spring Fling.

seems to me that i would take the exhaust manifold off the truck, install the twins onto that, then bolt it back on the block, and then all the big tubes go on and oil line / return. next friday sounds like a hooters meet franklin, here we come !

If it was only that easy! You need to disassemble the new turbos for the install and then clock them to the right position. You need to install new heater core feed line and trans. dipstick tube, bend some other lines out of the way and relocate the grid heater relays and after all that you have to make the new 5" downpipe work with the 4" exhaust.

As to bolting the turbo's to the manifold and then installing...... I guess you would have to pick the manifold and two turbo's up seperately to appreciate how heavy the are. I believe the big one weighs approx. 55lbs while the little one weighs 38lbs.

I'm going to say Pat is right on with the time. It always takes longer the first time around. I would like to have it finished by Sunday on the weekend I do it so I have some time to play with the wastegate tuning.

If this doesn't keep my EGT's in check I'm done!

See, this is a big job, and should be approached as such. Next Friday, we will discuss and plan things over some hot beer and cold wings (I got that right didn't I gus?) Then when the time comes, we will need more beer to get back into that frame of mind, and this being a big job requires big beer. I am thinking 1/4 barrel at least. Thoughts?

Kidding, IDK if I would mix alcohol with this kind of job. lot of $$$ at stake, too much can go wrong IMO

just came to mind; Angelo, you ended up buying a new torque wrench to do the headstuds didn't you? Seems to be what I remember you saying, that is if my memory is right, which it tends not to be

good gawd, had no clue the turbo's were so heavy. man it sure is a project for someone who has another means of transportation. If ya need help, just holler, sure a few of us would be able to get up there and help out with whatever we can.

EDIT : Pat, I just ran into the owner of a shop in upper saddle river that does tranny work, clutches and sutch, he is into diesels and seems to know his stuff, gold seal transmissions in upper saddle river. since I know your brother is in need of some work, might look him up.

Anyone want a set of Recon smoked cab lights? I have some extras as well to go with it. PM me if interested, I don't want to get us into trouble again.

Don't blame me because she bought them! If she wants to buy me something, I am not going to be discouraging her

EDIT : just managed to remove the rocktech sensor and re instal the stock sensor, now ready for the added timing programs

He is really just driving around with it becuase it looks like a stinger in the back of his truck. Makes him look more intimidating on teh highways.

I will be there, but will probably end up a little late, supposed to work till 7 but I will try to duck out early.
