thuren bar a little trickier by yourself...... you can drive the truck without end links, without a track bar ? not happenin.... well this house wreeks of garlic, chilis, habernero's....... batch of blame the dog chili now in its final pre trip stage of a two hour stint in the crock pot, then three hours in the crock in the truck on the way out there. I know George is heading out there, I am going, anyone else heading to sprig fling tomorrow ?
phew, thunderstorm season here already..... good bit of rain last night making everything a mud fest again...... got off my but for one more thing, finally ordered a ts mp8 to stack along side the smarty instead of the quad box which has been acting up again lately. should be here in a few days. Hey George, I know ya had some nice numbers Saturday on the dyno, but what were the settings on the smarty ? I Might head out in a bit here, I see a place down in maplewood has bio blend at the pumps, interested to see how it runs. I will put a spare fuel filter in the truck just in case.
EDIT: just filled up with 10% bio, pure virgin soybean oil source, blended at the pump for 2.89 a gallon, tough to say if it sounds quieter as I had the windows up on the way home.

price on the bio isn't that bad, take the cost of the 2 stroke oil I usually add out and its about the same. I know George, Tom, and Pat have quads so I'll throw this out here: Another site I am on, a hunting site is putting together a quad ride, date is April 25th at lost trails atv park in PA. 25 minutes fromt he delaware water gap. 35 bucks entry, but group rates are lower. Kicker is they make you use a flag on the quad for visibility, I am going to call them when they open and see if we can use our own flag, gotta be able to get a cheap one at walmart, better than the 15 bucks they want. park opens at 9 am, closes 5 pm so a full day of riding available. no booze, drugs, or firearms. Sounds like the rules are tight, but many guys who have been there say it isn't as bad as it reads. link for those interested.

sheesh, how's my luck sound ? go in to work today in NYC, find at 6:45 am that my jobsite trailer has been broken into, about 7 grand in power tools gone......... stole so much stuff I had nothing to work with for the tday. Lost one day pay, go back to the office and scramble to get enough stuff to work tomorrow, some of the stuff not as good as what was stolen, other stuff just too dang expen$ive to replace right now. get through all that, come home to find out the bilstein steering stabilizer I ordered last night is on backorder...... no sense buyin lottery tickets, and I ain't goin anywhere till this passes.
wow, not a lot goin on lately, just throwin this out there again, got a group of guys heading to lost trail atv park in the pocono's on Sunday. shooting for a 9 am in the park time. supposed to be 25 minutes from the del water gap off 80. interested in a quad ride post up.
Well, two things acomplished on the truck tonight. got the bilstein steering stabilizer in, what a motha to get the old one off......... and, in the interest of killing death wobble I kicked my front axle forward as far as possible with the cam adjustments on the lower control arms. took it for a short ride, nothin over 45 yet, too much trafic ! can tell something is different in the front end, but no real chance at seeing if dw is still there, for that I gotta go 23 norht through the interchange w 80/ 36 and onto the 80 west ramp, them bridge joints are great at causing dw and a fast test to see if it is cured or not.
not enough time in the day to get a look at the water meth yet, fuse replaced but for some odd reason no water being used, and I been boostin a bit lately

My son goes hunting all the time. He's gotten alot of deer but nothing that looks like that. where in Jersey did you get it? He's saving up to go on a hunt in Iowa,or Montana. Labrador for moose, or to south Afrca for some kind of game. When it comes to hunting he doesn't want to know nothing he's going. It doesn't matter what needs to be done or who wants it done he's going hunting. The family knows if you need him for something ask him before hunting season.
That deer was taken out towards Clinton on private land. same here, hunting season forget it, I am gone....... and now with Sunday hunting, its even worse! I have never gone on any out of state guided hunts, I work to dang hard for my money to spend it on something like that, maybe someday but I doubt it.
It's awfully quiet around here!
Truck is sitting in the driveway up on jack stands. The u-joints went in the front axles so I decide the weather has been nice enough and I would tackle the job now.
I could not get them to move besides just applying brute force to them and beating the knuckle with a mini sledge and just being all around angry.
I destroyed the front hub bearings getting them out. I had a huge puller on them and was using the socket with short extension on the bolts and turning the wheel trick. (power steering acts as a press against bolts) and ended up bending the hubs that the wheel studs attach to and pulling the bearings partially out of the hub.

I figured while I was this far in to it and never wanting to do this again, I ordered some new Dynatrac ball joints (uppers and lowers. Not here yet) and replaced the u-joints with new grease-able ones from precision u-joint. The new ball joints are supposed to be re-buildable but I'm hoping I wont ever have to find out.
Just got done ordering new shocks front and rear from Bilstein along with one of their steering stabilizers. (If anyone is interested Geno's Garage has good prices on the Bilstein stuff)
I have to say this has been the worst job I have ever done. I was all day Saturday and a couple of hours monday just getting the truck all the way apart. If anyone else is going to tackle this job buy a couple of cans of PB Blaster a month ahead of time and spray everything daily. I already got a new bottle of anti-seize for when I install all the new parts.
I pray this will be the only time.
Anyone else got anything going on?

Mine has been on and off the stands the last couple of weeks. I have been getting a little shudder from the rear around turns and I've come to the point where I think it has to be the clutches in the rear. I put Redline fluid in it a couple of years ago, maybe its beginning to break down and allowing the clutches to chatter. While I was under there I figured I would install the Bilsteins that have been in the basement for a couple of years and the bolt/vent nipple that holds the rear brake line block in place. The old one snapped off a while ago and I had some zip ties holding the block in place. Since I had to move the block out of the way to drill out the remains of the old fitting, one of the lines from the block to the wheel cylinders began to leak. I had a spare piece of line around so I could replace that side but I figured I'd pick up a piece for the other side while I was at it. I managed to screw up the flare on one end and its weeping a little so I get to go back under there this week and re-do that end. Once that's done I'm going to put a set of add a leafs in the back then give the rear a thorough cleaning and a coat of POR-15. After that its on to the front for the 2" leveling kit and front Bilsteins I've had in the basement for a long time too. At some point this summer the whole bed is coming off so I can coat the frame with POR and at some point I'd like to put in the bigger injectors that have been on the shelf forever.
That enough for ya?!?!
