I plan on going if I get my clutch back in before then. Since its March right now and the dyno is in July, my chances are looking pretty good.

Keegan:

Hey buddy, glad to hear you are planning on coming to this event. I was wondering if Dustin (Tacsavage) is planning on attending again this year and where you guys are staying? He and I had a good time there last year.

I am planning on going up a day early to help Lucas.

Hey John,

It's good to hear from you. Dustin and I both live fairly close to Blowing Rock, so I think we'll just be driving up on the day of this event from each direction. I'll definitely be looking for you. Did you ever get that rear axle rebuilt in the Rocket? I'd love to know what the axle shaft splines looked like.

Yeah Keegan, Tom and I finally got the Dana 70 "overhauled" in the 96!
IMO,.....it is a pretty complicated process and I would NEVER attempt it by myself. You are right, the axle shaft splines were "tweaked" some, but not as bad as I thought they would be for having over 300,000 miles and close to 250 drag race launches on them! What looked REALLY bad though was the clutches in the limited slip unit. They were GONE!! That proabaly accounts for the bad "clicking" I had going around the corners. I am SO GLAD I listened to Tom and didn't drag race or dyno the truck while the differential was in that shape as we feel it may have come apart. Anyway, I am still trying to do the "break-in" as per Tom and Dana/Spicers recommendations so that hopefully these gears, axle shafts, clutches etc. live and hold up as well as the others did.
