The Lucky 11 Explained:
Racers will be choosen by a drawing from the racers who register for the E.T. class. We'll pull 11 racer numbers from a hat and those will be the people able to race in the E.T. class. You will have to choose your dial in prior to entering the class. There will be no dial in runs! Be prepared to run if your numbers if drawn.

Hey Mike,
Just curious how the 11 truck bracket would be broken down? If one guy gets a bye and you run 10 the first round that gives you 5 winners plus the bye for a total of 6 to race the second round. After that round, you would have three winners and someone would be left with no one to race. I can think of a way to do it with 8 trucks (3 rounds, no byes), 13 (4 rounds, 3 byes), 14 (4 rounds, 2 byes), and 16 (4 rounds, no byes) trucks, but I'm stumped on 11. If we can get the bracket worked out I think the overall idea will work really well.
Also, why not make the stick & marine awards an overarching prize for the whole event rather than a separate class? That could concentrate everyone on the 3 classes and then someone wouldn't have to run multiple classes (which we probably won't have time for).
Edit:
if someone gets put out of the bracket in any of the classes they are, of course, still free to make runs to compete for fun and/or for the marine and stick awards. They're just out of the bracket competition. I'm just envisioning all of us lining up (we sort ourselves) and running all at once. We'll go back to the pits, set the bracket for the next round, and we'll run again when the track calls us. I'd like to think the track would work with us to get us 4 or 5 "rounds" over the evening.

The three left over from the second round would draw for high card. Winner gets a bye to the finals and the other two race. Luck of the draw type thing.
I don't really know how the Marine class will work yet. Mark (Madhat) said that the Marines have to be DTR members to qualify for the class so we'll have to see how many we're going to have entered. We'll probably have them turn in their best time slip and pick the fastest one to run heads up against Mark. These guys can make the passes with the gassers so we won't use our truck only race time for qualifications.
The handshaker class will probably be pretty small and not require many rounds.
