Claremont, VA Dyno Event
Hey Dennis, do ya think we need to hire night security patrols and arm them with frying pans this time?
Or you could just put steenkin badges on the micro mutts and set them on patrol I guess. Probably be cheaper.

TWO pounds? Wow he must have put on weight since the last time I saw him
I don't know if it is a good idea to use him for security...at the rate that dog drinks coffee, we will be up all night just keeping it brewed for him

Alright guys big problem
I didnt realize this event was on 4th of July weekend.....which all of you know that have been to the outerbanks means tourist HEAVEN!!!! Which also means biggest day of the year for our business. I have been rushin so hard as well as Phil (McMopar) John P, Johner, Tim, Jason at wide open diesel, and many companies workin with us to get this truck over 600 by the 30th. I need to know what time all this stuff is takin place so that maybe by a miracle above, I can get off and fly down there to hit the rollers and see all of you guys again. I cant stand missing big events like these but we're only open 4-5 months out of the year and if we dont make the $$ now then we'll be empty handed for the other 7 months

The dyno is usually there about 1800 on Friday evening and he sometimes will run a few trucks Friday evening. Then the main runs start about 0900 Saturday morning or so and go till everyone has run into the evening. Sunday, they are packing up to leave so no runs then.
Gettin' Close Folks
Well, it's gettin close that time, time for the best event on the east coast. The CVFD called me last night and they thought it was this weekend. OOPSys. They are excited and ready for us to decend upon them like a heard of smoking locusts.
Time for my usual pre-Claremont speech, yea
, ya gotta suffer through it.
SAFETY:
As with nuclear power or any aspect of you life, SAFETY is the number one concern. I don't think we've had as much as a pinched finger at the first three and I'd like to keep up that tradition and have even less this year. Thanks to David, Mike, JohnP, Dennis, Ed, Tim, and all the others that help police the area around the dyno and I would ask for your help again this year. As you all very well know, these trucks put a tremendous amount of energy into that machine (some a lot more than others
) and things can go wrong real quick. Even as securely as the trucks are tied down, things can happen in an instant. Some of the newer folks may not realize how quickly they can get hurt if in the wrong place at the wrong time.
FIRE HALL USE:
The CVFD really enjoys having us there and graciuosly offers the use of the facilities so we need to respect the property as we all have so far. They will once again be turning the trucks around to exit the north side of the building and we will have access to the south side for anything we need. We must in NO case for any reason block and exits on the north side of the building for any amount of time. This is a fully functioning facility and subject to being pressed into servicve at any moment. For David, Mike, and significant others, the showers will be open for your use as needed as always. The rest rooms are very clean and neat and I would ask everyone to help me keep them that way. Either Dennis or I will have a trailer there with trash cans so please help me keep the place picked up. If you have any barrells or large trash cans you can bring along for the couple days, please do so and I won't have to buy some (I can put that money towards raffle items).
RAFFLE ITEMS:
I am going to Sears to purchase a few Craftsman tool sets for the raffles we have. If you feel so inclined as to bring something to donate to the raffle no matter what, bring it along. If not, feel free to purchase tickets on the raffle items as you see fit. Any and all proceeds go to the CVFD, I / we do not keep and moneys raised. I want us to have a good time but I also want to make it worth their while also for being so gracious.
CAMPING AND OTHER ACTIVITIES:
As mentioned in the flyer, camping space is available but there are no hookups. Bring your tent, your sleeping bags, or whatever you prefer to get horizontal on at nights for the bodily restoration period. There is no real concern over adult beverages but I do ask that if you consume them during daylight hours, please keep them in an inconspicuous wrapper for general appearances. If you're going to fire up a grille, even though we're at a fire station, make sure there is a fire extinguisher somewhere in the neighboorhood.
TOOLS and PARTS:
I will once again have the GN there with variuos air tools and so on. If you plan to do any detailed wrenching, make sure you bring some tools and make sure if you borrow a tool to return it to the rightfull owner before leaving. The NAPA dealer in Surry is open till about 12, the NAPA dealer in Waverly is open till about 1, and the NAPA dealer in Wakefield is on my cell phone and will help out if need be. There is an ADVANCE and AUTO ZONE about 40 minutes up the road also. If you plan to change any fluids or have leaks, please cover up the concrete pad before starting or parking. They like to keep the place very clean and I would not want to stain the pad. I should have a large heavy tarp if need be.
ABOVE ALL:
Show up and have a good time. This is a pretty open / laid back event for those of you that have not been to this one before. David and Mike usually put in a pretty hard day so don't forget them with an occasional cold water or beverage from time to time.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
Butch or JohnP - do you still have the raffle tickets?
Need a table or two to put the raffle stuff on
Need a folding tent or some shade for the better half in the raffle tent (she can't be in the sunlight)
Couple bags of cat litter or oil absorb in case
Trash cans or barrells if you got any
Well, that's the speech, hey,
WAKE UUUUUUPPPP.... IT wasn't that bad was it?
See you in a few weeks.
(disclaimer, dislexic a little am I so responsible not for spelling bad)

I still have the tickets, just have to remember where I put them (in that safe place again, I can't even find it)
.
I still have those two tables and I think I can bring those.
I still have the tent thingy we had a couple of years ago, the one that looked like two monkeys and a football putting it together
... Also got a new EZ-up but the wife may want that by the RV.
.
Should be a good time as always.
