Antrim Diesel (Greencastle, PA) dyno days

This is Antrim's 1st annual dyno days event. They are located off exit #3 on I-81 at Greencastle, PA. Pickups will be run Friday, June 2nd starting at 4PM. Big rigs will be Saturday June 3rd starting at 8 AM.

Pickups will have a separate class for each make; Ford, Chevy/GMC and Dodge. ..Then, there is a king of the hill class. Entry fee for the pickups is $75.

Note; this is a real chassis dyno, ..it's a load-type, ..so the engine and driveline will get worked to get the numbers. Don't bring anything that has any weak driveline parts. Nobody wants decapatitated from a flying driveshaft.

Classes for the big rigs are as follows;
Mechanical engine; Cat
Mechanical engine; Cummins
Electronic engine; Cat
Electronic engine; Cummins
Other OEM engines
King of the Hill

Entry fee for the rigs will be $100. This is for OTR trucks and no "race trucks" will be permitted.

RULES:
1. All trucks will be subject to a safety inspection prior to competition. Each truck will be operated by Antrim Diesel's operator, the owner or operator may be in the cab during the dyno run. The dyno operator and/or judge may stop the dyno run at their discretion.

2. All trucks will be run with the transmission in direct (1:1) gear.

3. All trucks will be run with the power divider engaged. (this obviously dosen't pertain to us pickups )

4. All trucks will be run with the fan engaged.

5. All trucks will be run at partial load until coolant temp has reach a minimum of 180*F.

6. Entries will be based on "CORRECTED POWER". The Taylor dyno will display vehicle power and corrected power is vehicle power corrected for wheel slip. In order to obtain corrected power, it is necessary to have an accurate tachometer signal. If your truck does not have a mag pickup to read engine RPM, Antrim Diesel will install a magnetic pickup, which requires an 1/8" pipe threaded hole to be drilled in the flywheel housing.

7. (Rigs) All electronic fuel system engines will be run with no fuel add-ons to full throttle at 1800 RPM, power will be held for 5 seconds, two readings will be recorded, the average of the two readings will be the official result.

8. (Rigs) All mechanical fuel system engines will be run with no fuel add-ons to full throttle at 2100 RPM, power will be held for 5 seconds, two readings will be recorded, the average of the two readings will be the official result.

9. All judging decisions are final.

10. The "Winner" of each class will be the engine producing the most horsepower per cubic inch.

11. In the event of a tie, awards/prizes will be divided between the winners.

Antrim Diesel does have a website started, but it's still a little rough and vague. There is an adress and phone number on it though. Any questions on this info, feel free to give them a call or fire back on here.

These dyno events don't obligate anyone present to dyno. Feel free to come out to watch, socialize with fellow diesel heads and meet folks like myself.

Well, the good new is I'm off those days. The bad news is, I already have events planned.

I'll have the Grand Marquis at the All-Fords in Carlisle on Friday, and the Dodge at Brenner's Show on Saturday.

Sounds like a great time, though.
