Had a blast at the meet today!! Just wanted to put that in here, kinda lost on the topic....what was the topic?? You can read all my ramblings on the meet & greet post!! Looking forward to the next one! Ol' Bell( my wifes given name to my truck.....because of the bells) should be fixed by that time and back to her pretty self!!

Wow! Glad everyone had fun. I know we got some dedicated guys now when they ask about the next meet when the last one was over just a few hours ago. Too soon to tell now where the next one will be.

 

Me and the wife had a blast. When we where leaving there where two new matching duallies at the gas station and one had stickers all over it. They where macking all kinds of noise and I just thought to myself (I wish Streetsmoker went this way out of town) The only bad thing is on the way home we broke done on I20 somewhere west of GA. I think it was that 30 dollars worth of fuel from the station.

 

Sorry to hear about that wrglrroper, did ya'll make it home alright? I know, that was a stupid question.....since you posted.....ok, one for dodgeguy Leaving out of there was like nascar on steroids.....or dieseloids!! I hate buying fuel out of town, hated stopping at some of the small town stations on the trip north....kinda get to trust the local places I buy all my fuel at. Oh yeah and very sorry again for the bungie shooting!! The Marines taught me about rifle safety.....but they left out the lethal bungie cord course!!

 

Yeh sux i mised those guys raising a fuss you saw. Good thing you made it home ok too. Funny thing is i was turning left to see if there was any action down town, and at the last minute figured nah, prob nothing and went ahead and went right to leave out on US-72. Oh well.

When & where is the next one?

I installed the new steering column bushing Sunday night and, um, er, things didn't go so well. Read about it starting here (another guy had the same problem the day before). I WISH I had seen his post before I headed out to the shop to do mine.

 

Yeah after it started acting up we got a hotel so we wouldnt be stranded on the interstate. The bad thing is they charged extra for the dogs, so needless to say the dogs got a bath to clean them up from the days events. When I got home I ordered a edge juice with attitude. Not having a fuel pressure gauge in the cab was a great excuse to justify the new toy. Bad thing is now its like Christmas eve waiting for it to get here.
Also, like ProspectorTim said, when and where is the next meeting.

 

I'm open to suggestions myself as to where the next one will be.

 

An air-conditioned shop in or near downtown Memphis would be nice.

I wish I could offer to meet at my shop, but it is a HANGER at the airport, and too many people are watching everything you do out there, vehicle access is limited by PIN and matching finrgerprint, I only have a little bit of parking space next to my hanger, and weekends are usually pretty busy out there.
It is definitly not the place to do smokey burnouts (way too many nosey neighbors, and they still treat me as an "outsider" because I don't own an airplane yet).

Edit:
But - I could get together on a smaller scale; maybe one or two trucks, just about anytime.

Man I am stoked!! My wife just tolled me that my edge came in today. Thats only one day shipping WOW! So tomorrow it will be on like donkey kong. Then the true test will come. If my vp44 will handle it. Ill update tomorrow.
