We want you!!
To join your local Chapter!
So come on it's easy and doesn't cost a thing.
Heck you might even make some new friends and with pullin season right around the corner it's gonna be fun.
June 2
, we have already planned a trip up to the Buck in Pa for the diesel pick-up power series. we are meeting up saturday driving up in a dodge convoy
and spending the night camping out
on the grounds. we also have wrench days at scott's garage to help each other with fixing and repairing
our trucks and installing new goodies.
As an active member of this chapter let me point out some advantages to anyone on the fence about this:
1. I've met most of our MD members, haven't met one I didn't like yet, a nice bunch of folks, no egos, just a friendly bunch with a common interest.
2. Wrenching days: When available our wonderful president has a great garage, with multiple bays, lifts, and most every tool you'd ever need. Want to bomb but don't know how or have the tools, we as a chapter have the knowledge, ability, and resources to help!
3. Get togethers: what better people to hang out with than folks with similar interests? You never run out of things to talk about and during these conversations you find other common interests (we're already discussing a few boating outings since a few of us own boats as well).
4. Call it networking, call it fellowship, but the folks in this chapter have connections. Been looking for something you can't find? Been looking for the best value on a new bomb? We have shop owners, mechanics, public service, laborers, geeks. The diversity is great. We have pulling rigs, lifted 4x4, almost stock trucks. 2500s, 3500s, 4x4, 4x2, 2nd gens, 3rd gens (we need some 1st gens).
As a quick anecdote here, the best thing I've seen so far was when a new member showed up to a wrenching day. He pulled his virgin 12V into the garage and stood back. Before he knew it, his hood was open and three different people were tearing his truck apart. The look on his face was priceless as he saw pieces of his truck flying around the garage. The next thing you know, his hood is closed and the truck is humming away. In the end, he got a fuel plate, a star wheel adjustment, an intake mod, some valuable advice, and he now loves his truck more than ever!!!
Don't sit on the fence folks, jump on in, the water is a perfect temperature!

As a new chapter president of a new chapter, I am doing my best to encourage others to join up and enjoy the benefits. Since I don't know too many guys in my area with CTD's, I'm really looking forward to changing that with the start of our chapter.
Sea:\>Drive,
Great post, I can only hope our chapter is as successful!

yea brad its fun man. we meet up down near baltimore for the convoy, but you can surely meet us at the buck to hang out, and then afterwards we will be camping out, maybe a fire and plenty of "amber cola"
id rather stay then have to drive home at 11 p.m. with a 12k trailer

After moving out to MD I did not know anyone, then I found this site and the MD group. I fit right in, never a dull moment with this group of guys. Find your local chapter, join up, I bet that you will not be dissapointed at all.
I found this site and a few others while I was in the process of deciding which diesel truck to buy. I feel lucky on two counts: 1) that I made the choice to buy a Dodge Cummins Turbo Diesel and 2) I found a great group of guys willing to lend a hand, give advice and just be good friends. Our chapter, IMHO, is a family that has each others back. Anytime a members truck breaks it's no holds barred to help to get it fixed. Same with bombing your rig. Everyone is more than willing to help lend a hand. Other advantages have been finding out where the best deals are on parts and such. Members have helped each other find jobs and more. I've learned a great deal since joining the chapter. I only wish I could make it to more of the wrenching days and such, I live 100+ miles from "The Cave". But everytime I do make it, it's worth the trip in the fun factor and knowledge gained.
. There is no doubt that if you are a member of DTR and not a member of your local/state chapter then you are missing out. If you don't have a local/state chapter, start one. You will soon see the benefits.
