I haven't read through all of thread about this on the other site, but it looks like a lot of people are planning on staying at the campground.

 

This is true, the campground will be packed to the gills. Are you planning on going Todd? I thought that the kid was due around then.

 

We have an appointment with the docs soon to determine a more accurate due date going by the sonograms. We're thinking they are going to move the date up to the last week of April, if that is true then we will more than likely be going.


Also, someone on the other said the amusement park is going to open that weekend also. I haven't checked that out yet but if it's true that campground is really going to be packed......we need to make sure we're there ealy enough to secure decent spots. Is the plan like last year, leave late Wed. arrive Thursday afternoon? Maybe we should leave earlier in the evening on Wednesday, the traffic may be heavier but we'll still be moving down the road and able to check in earlier at the campground.

 

well i call my bunk in todds camper and if he isn't able to go i'll pop a tent at the camp ground. its going to be the happening place this year.

heck i bet you its even close between kristen and i who has slept in it more. lol

 

she normally likes the top bunk, so yeah you probably got her beat on that, she uses the bottom one to keep all her crap in, unless someone is sleeping there too.....

 

Called BeechBend and looks like the amusement park is only going to be open for school field trips and such, not the general public. Also the splash park will be closed. They are not taking reservations for camping 'cause they don't expect a large crowd at that time of year.

Boy, I think they are going to be surprised by the turn out for this years TS event.

 

The plan is to leave around 6-7 PM on Wednesday and head to Ohio. We should be in Ohio around 4-5 AM, have brunch and take a short break. The Ohio convoy is leaving around 7ish iirc and we are going to convoy with them. Going through Ohio is only 4 more miles that the way we took last year.

 

sweet where are we leavein from? the cave?

 

so what are the prices looking like at the hotels? i need to reserve something soon. thinking about just sleeping in the truck at the campground too, not sure yet.

 

i made my reservations at $80/night for a room with 2 queen beds. TS usually gets discounted rates so i expect it to drop to about 67-70 once they work a deal and then I will call and have my reservation updated to the new rate.

 

What hotel are you stayin at?

 

screw it, guess i will be going too. . So if anyone was needing a ride up there let me know, bringing the mega and i got dvd in the back.

 

We will be leaving from the cave I assume, I still have to clear that with the property owner, but I doubt it will be a problem. Ok guys, still early but I want to talk about fuel cost. I think that if we split the fuel cost evenly across the board, no matter what truck you ride in since I am sure that there will be switching back and forth, you pay the same. Even though fuel is currently cheaper, we need to still try to carpool as many as possible in each truck. It will greatly reduce the cost to each and every person. I am hoping that everyone ends up paying very little each but everyone that drove has their fuel paid for. If you disagree please PM me, this can stay off the boards as far as I am concerned, I just want to let everyone know out loud, if you agree please post. Just to clarify, this is if you carpool, more than you personally in just your truck. If you want to take your truck by yourself your fuel is all yours.
