Oil question

I know this isnt diesel related, but I have a question for you guys....I bought a used Expedition and the guy put in Mobil 1 synthetic oil. He was very emphatic about using only Mobil 1 for future changes. Do I have to use Mobil 1 or can I change brands. I have never dealt with synthetics so I dont know, but I dont see a problem switching...I have Pennzoil on the shelf, given to me by a buddy. ( I posted here just to get a quick answer..)

Cool, thanks...

Hey, I see you have a 90cc 4 wheeler. I am in the market for one of those for my 12 year old. Was looking at a yamaha raptor 90. Is it worth getting one of those? Do they have enough power? My boy is about 115 lbs.

if he is already 12 i would look at something a little bigger like a 125 or maybe a little more that he wont outgrow so quickly. my nephew has the grizzly "80" and at 10 years old he has pretty much outgrown it and is ready to step up to something in the 125-250 range for the next 3-4 years. if you do go bigger and are concerned its too much power, look for a quad that comes with an adjustable throttle stop, this lets him get used to riding without having too much power to get him in trouble.

it just doesnt make sense to buy one now and have to buy another one next year as he is gonna start growing fast.

Talking 4 Wheeler

My son is only 7 and he maxes out the throttle on the can am allready. I agree with rollincoal. Get him a 250 Raptor it has an adjustable throttle so you can keep his speed down until he gets better and you will be able to use the quad for years to come. That will be my sons next quad...

That is exactly what I wanted to do...I went to petes cycle with the intent on buying him at least a 250. Me, being uneducated at the time, was asked how old he was and I told them that he was 11. They all but asked me to leave the store. Apparently, its against the law for them to sell anything more than a 90 cc bike(4 wheeler) to anyone less that 16.

I know that I could buy a 250 or better and say its for me, but I do most of my riding in Greenridge and Michaux state forests. I was told that if I get stopped by the Man and my son (who def doesnt look 16) is caught on anything more than a 90 cc bike, they could fine me and possibly take the bike. If I had some private property it would be another story. Any ideas on this?

do not worry about that. my buddy's son is 13 and he rides a 660 grizzly with us on all of the trails we take, granted he is tall and big for 13 but thats a 700lbs quad with alot of power, he just knows to ride sensibly. we went to quad fest with 5000 other people and all kinds of safety rules etc and they never even question the age of the rider on a quad.

also i been to greenridge many times, dont think i ever seen a ranger, and if we did they only check for you pass to the park.

they used to be just a little shop in the sticks of WV, they just moved to a brand new huge warehouse type facility with a big showroom...business is good for them. they sell by volume not by making their profit all on one machine.

the 3 saturdays before hunting season...that joint will sell 100 quads, and they are only open from 7-1pm on saturdays...easily 20-40 bikes will leave that place
