Truck sat for 7 years.....

Hey, I have a 2001 dodge that sat parked in a driveway since 2005. Nothing was done to prepare it for storage. It was just parked. Tires are pretty flat. I can just barely hear the buzzer when I open the door, so the battery must have a little power. The dome light doesn't work, tho.

I'm wondering: what needs to be done to get this thing working again? Change the engine oil, PS fluid, Radiator fluid. What about the tranny (6 speed manual) or diffs?

Any help would be appreciated....

You are on the right track for a vehicle that has sat idle for that length of time. I recommend you change all of the fluids and filters. This includes flushing the brake fluid in order to remove the moisture and contaminates in the system. Air up the tires, grease the fittings on the front end. I would clean the battery terminals and cable ends including the grounds connected to the frame and body. Try charging the batteries on a charger in order to see if they are good enough to start the vehicle.

I strongly recommend you drain and clean the fuel tank if possible, and put fresh fuel in along with a bottled biocide/algae removal product.

I would look the tires over real good after you air them up,
could be dry rotted, 5 years is a long time for tires to just sit out
in the sun. Good luck!

Serpentine belt and hoses for the same reason as the tires, dry rot from sitting.
