New Truck and New Member
My friends call me JC. Just bought my new truck last Friday and I love it. I tow a 4500 lb. boat occasionally and love the CTD torque. I am not sure what my rear end gear ratio is. Is there somewhere on the truck where it might tell me? My first mods will likely be wheels/tires, roll up aluminum tonneau cover, Nerf bars and then I need to clean her up and improve my mileage but I am thinking I should wait a little before I embark on that. I am thinking that a new exhaust, a new Intake and a programmer may be in order. Not sure which programmer is best for my truck but any recommendations for any of the above add-ons would be greatly appreciated. I am happy to be a part of this forum. I look forward to learning a lot about the CTD and making some cool friends along the way. My Rig is a 2008 Ram 2500 6.7 CTD Silver Laramie Quad Cab 4WD 6-sp Auto.

Welcome to the DTR, JC. You've come to the right place!
The gear raito should be on the window sticker, or in the glovebox on a sticker there.
I'm not too much on looks stuff, but the DTR store can help you out on a lot of the performance stuff.
What are you looking for out of a programmer, fuel milage or lots of power?
Make sure that you get guages if you run a programmer, some of them can exceed the limits of the truck.
Congrats on the truck, and welcome!

Thanks for the warm welcome. The tonneau cover is to improve airflow/mileage and the ability to lock things up in the bed ... the nerfbar to help this old fart climb up into the cab. I just picked up a set of Hummer H2 wheels and will be machining the centers to fit my truck. Will put either 33" or 35" BFG Radial TA tires ... whichever will fit without having to change the suspension. I'll have to go visit the wheel & tire forum to see what they say.
The Programmer will be for both better mileage and more power, even though I am blown away by the power i have now. My previous truck was a 1965 Chevy C10 with a Six Banger and 4 on the floor.
