Hey folks! Im Lance, Im 17 years old and a senior at Butte High School. I drive a 1992 Dodge W150 with a 318 magnum with multi-port F.I., NV4500, Dana 44 in front Chrysler 9.25 rear with limited slip. Has Pace setter shorty headers, true dual exhaust into a 2 chamber muffler (dual in/out). No cats, just the muffler. Its my early graduation present from my grand parents. It WAS stock except for rims and a tach when i bought it. The truck that I bought my self is a 1990 Dodge Cummins D250. First day i had it i straight piped it, took the air box off so its just the filter (for now), and turned up the fuel screw 1 turn from run away. I dont run it hard since i dont have gauges YET. Its under going a 4wd conversion in my Auto shop class. Im doin it my self, yay! Paid $2300 for the truck with 166,xxx miles and $400 for a 205 T-case, 3 drive shafts (devorced system), cross member, leafs and mounts, and a Dana 44 HD front axle from a 3/4 ton Chevy. Yes, yes, i know, i know. "Dana 44 wont hold up......" etc. But the person who i got it from is my friends dad who happens to own a junk yard. He doesnt have a Dana 60 at all. Scary...i know. He said that if the 44 goes bye bye he'll find me a good 60 for free. The chevy axle is and inch wider on the ends and the leaf pin hols are a 1/2" narrower than a Dodge axle...took some modification but its almost done....well the front is anyways. Not bad for being 17 i do say so my self lol

Sounds like a cool project.

 

Its a lot cheaper than payin $5000-6500 around here for a beat up farm truck Cummins thats 4wd. lol

 

No doubt...

I would imagine most trucks there earn their keep...and then some.

 

That is seriously cool. My dad sold a 93 2wd with 55k years ago because it wasnt a 4wd and he needed one. He still kicks himself, and it gave me the CTD bug! When It came time for me to buy a truck, I had to have a CTD!

Enjoy doing projects like that while you're young and have a little less taxing you're time. Trust me, It gets a lot tougher to do those kind of "fun" projects when you have a family and a career. I miss that kind of stuff.

It also helps when you don't have to convince anybody but yourself that it's a good idea. (don't tell my wife I said that)
