Hello from Montana
Hello everyone. I am rivermadman from Montana, I enjoy fixing old stuff from trucks to tractors to any problem someone can't find the answer too. I am currently working on a 92 3500 flat bed that has a lot of hard earned miles ( 349,275). His speed-o-meter would only work when it wanted to and then it would jump around. A local dealer wanted to overhaul his trany and transfer case. After checking all the mechanical items, I jumped into the wire harness and found many years of dirt rocks and oil blow by inside the plastic tubing. When I cleaned it all out I found many places where the wires were chaffed through and causing stray volts to move where they were not wanted. Fixed the jumpy needle and even got the cruse control working again but low and behold now it won't stay on over drive. The article on replacing the TSP was just what I needed to fix the shifting problem and I sent the truck home to a very happy friend.
Thanks for the help.
