Just bought an 03 auto crew cab 5.9 w/136k. Hope to learn more about them as I have been a gas guy. Any advice on what to look for or fix.

Welcome from NY.
The first thing I would do is get better filtration for
your fuel.

Joe:

Welcome to the website Sir!

Like the other member said, keep your fuel filters clean by changing them regularly. I try to do mine every 3,000-5,000 miles. Of course, keep your oil and filters changed at regular intervals too and use a good quality DIESEL oil like Rotella, Valvoline Cummins Premium Blue, or Delo. I am not a big fan of synthetic oil but alot of our DTR Members are. Buy your diesel fuel from name brand stations that pump alot of diesel fuel.

Finally, I recommend some gauges for your truck. At least an EGT (pyrometer) gauge, a fuel pressure gauge and possibly a boost gauge.
You can now buy a unit like the "Edge CTS Module" which will monitor all
of that and more.

Anyway,....good luck and welcome aboard Sir!
