What wire do I have
What wire do I have
Hi, I own a 92 ctd 4 by 4, and while trying to install some driving lights I touched something I should not have. To make a long story short i fried a wire. This wire had 20 gauge fuse link stamped on it . What is this wire? Was it meant to be a type of fuse, to sacrifice itself before serious damage is done.hope someone out there can help me out.
Re:What wire do I have
Sounds like a 20 Amp fusable link.....basically, similar to a fuse in that it protects the wire from melting if its shorted. You should be able to replace it fairly easily.
Re:What wire do I have
no It is not a fusible link it is a factory wire with the words 20 gauge fuse link on it . It is a very thin wire.It fried when i tried to turn my driving lights on.And I can't figure out why it went
Re:What wire do I have
I agree with Dr. Evil. I have done something similar on a different rig. It is called a fuseable link though there is no fuse. The only thing you can do is replace the wire.
