Vulcan and Holley Blue
Vulcan and Holley Blue
I installed my holley and vbulcan kit this afternoon. Problem is i did it at my shop and had a hard time getting it started( bled injectors and it finally started). Drove it home about 20 miles ran fine got home and now it wont start. The injector pump is new also, but i have been having hard start issues for a while but it has started everytime until now. My fuel preassure is 12 at idle and 8 at wot, also about 5 when cranking. Anybody got any ideas. Thanks Dave
Recently when I did my Vulcan install, the fuel filter didn't fill completely after many starter bumps and the fuel pressure was slow to build so I opened the filter top a little to fill it full. Of course when I bumped the starter, the filter filled in about a halfa second then overfilled, spraying everything down before I screwed the top back down
.
Afterward I bumped the starter with the filter top tight and pressure built quickly and after 4 more "bumps" I tried to start the motor. It must've still had some air in the VP and injector lines but started after about 10 seconds of cranking the motor.
Everything's fine now but you gotta wonder how many problems are caused by un-relieved air in the fuel filter. An air bleeder on the filter top may not be a bad idea.
