Truck wont start...have good fuel preasure

This is my buddies 01.5 HO 6 speed truck

Over the weeked we replaced the dead lift pump and put in a new filter along with gauges. After the filter gave us some trouble bleading all the air out we got it running on saturday. After driving it for a few days the truck will not start this morning. It cranked and ran this morning for a split second and then cut off on its own.

We are thinking the injection pump died, but is there any way to test it. We can not check for codes because while working on it this morning he disconected the battery and it cleared the codes. I know it had a 1693, just not sure of the actual code.
The fuel gauge reads 14 at the injection pump.

Any tips or help would be great.

Just talked to him again. It is getting fuel to the injecters. Does this mean there is hope for the injection pump? Could it be as simple as a sensor?

This would be alot easier if the computer was still throwing a code.
