Truck stalled
Howdy
I was shifting into reverse last night and my truck stalled on me. It simply shut itself off.
started up right away though. It also lurches every once in a while, as if I was tapping the accelerator, and when I hammer on it I'm seeing a lot of white-gray smoke. Are these indications of my VP biting it?
Thanks

Try turning the key on/off three times and leave the key on. See if you get any codes in the odometer. The symptoms do sound like a VP problem, but what is your fuel pressure? Is it possible that the APPS is going screwy?

ya I should have mentioned that. I've done the apps in august, didn't really do anything. the only codes it throws is the 1693. I'll check again, but I'm 99% sure that it won't throw the VP44 code. Fuel pressure is 14-15psi at idle, 9-13 at cruise and 3-5 at WOT. I'll be putting in an auxillary pusher pump pretty quick, but I don't think its an absolute necessity and I'm not too sure if that will fix er seeing as my pressure is still pretty good.
Code 1693 is a companion code. All that means is there is (are) other code(s) stored in the ECM. You need to get the truck scanned to pull all the codes. Once you get the code then you can proceed. Otherwise you can throw a bunch of parts at it and not fix it.
