Track Bar removal

Ok, I've researched till I am blue in the face... I have tried pickle forks, 3 different sizes, lifting the truck, trying with the passenger side still connected and having removed the bolt, lifting the axel, made a custom bar that I could get into the head of the joint and hammer it... I've put heat on the bolt and then hammered some more... pry bars... yes I even took the nut off the bolt... NOTHING I do has accomplished removing the head.... HELP!!!

In my long past career, I've had success with breaking loose stubborn taper fit joints by smacking the side of the joint repeatedly with a 3 pound engineer hammer...Sometimes even with a taper joint puller installed...I did not see this in your listed attempts so it might be worth a try......Ben

Can't get to it with a hammer, other suspension parts are blocking me.

I made a 2 1/2 foot bar out of blackpipe , capped it on both ends and used it for my hammering. Was the only way I could get to it.

It took two... had a friend come over and between the two of us and a MAP torch... we finally got it... he heated it for over 10 minutes.... and I think that did the trick... I had only heated for 5 when I was trying by myself.. a couple of taps and out it popped.

THANK YOU

I got a few tips for ya without knowin' the specifics of your rig (I got a F450 XL). First, try some penetrating oil to loosen up any rust. If that don't work, grab an impact wrench for serious power. Another option is a bolt extractor set, it's a lifesaver. Feeling brave? Apply heat and cool it down quick. And if all else fails, call in a pro like the fellas at WWTC.
