Tps Freaking out!! Bigtime

so when i was in norcal a few weeks back. i got dead pedal and pulled a 0121 code i think. pretty much said it was a Tps error.

cleaned it off and drove back to socal. no problems untill yestrday. i was sitting at a stop light when like it did at the get together in norcal revved on it own. but this time i had to hold the breaks with both feet while at a stop light. guy infront of me wondering wth was going on . blowing smoke everywhere!. didnt dare put it in nuetral. pull of the street onto where i was going. (lukily it was on the corner where i was). where it did it more. and i shut down the truck.

now as i drive it flucuates. but has not freaked out like yesturday. but it annoying . i clean it out again. but no help. cant afford a new tps this close to x-mas. after getting gifts!

can you actually get into the case to look at these things. or am i doomed to get monkeyed for 460$$ from the dealer!

thanks

You can take them apart and lube the cable etc.

Hopefully someone can chime in before you need to drive again - sounds like an accident waiting to happen!

... and your sure it's not a runaway, right?

Oh OK - the GF changes everything!

I'd much rather get rescued by my entertainment unit than spend half an hour jacking with my APPS at night...

Priceless!!

I bought a new TPS at the dealer through my place of employment. It was about $10 cheaper than NAPA. I think it was about $230CAN. Check NAPA if you can't get a deal from the dealer.

It's about $400+ from the Dodge dealer. I have a brand new one in my garage that won't work on my 07. I'll let it go for what I paid for it which is a lot less than that...

H2SRDMB I see you are in the Mojave Area. If you are calling the dealer I assume it is the Lancaster Dealer. Try calling Mojave Truck. They are right on the 58 on the south side of Mojave. I have gotten parts from them for less than Cummins west. FYI on the third Thursday of every month we have our Dodge get together at Carrows on Ave K in Lancaster. 5:30 p.m. There are a lot of other resources up here in the high desert besides going to this dealer.( Whom knows squat about diesels anyway.) Would love to have another Dodge in the group.

Call Mojave Truck, Darn I think it might be called Desert Truck. It's right across the street from the CHP office on the old Hwy 58. If you can't get it for a reasonable price there than you won't get it for a reasonable price anywhere.. Ask for Patrick.
