tapping the manafold

tapping the manafold

trying to tap my exhaust manafold for the pyro, i cannot get the tap to bite. anyone got a help me tip for this????

Did you use the right size bite? Or maybe a dull tap.

i got it, i used a regular tap to start the thread then used the NPT to finish it off... starting with the NPT didnt work.

Sounds like the drill bit that you used is too small , go larger 1 at a time till the first few threads catch with the tap , and use the pipe tap only , and back it out frequintly and try the fitting for the pyro , you always make the hole bigger but you do not want to try to make it smaller.
